The child prodigy Corey Haim, who became one of Hollywood’s most promising rising stars and a teenage crush in the 1980s, enjoyed a career boom until his sudden death on 10 March 2010. He had fought against drug addiction before he was found unconscious on the floor of his California apartment.

The young actor, who was celebrated in 1986 for his role in the teenage film entitled Lucas, had confessed that his first encounter with hard drugs and alcohol took place on the set of the film. His co-star Charlie Sheen introduced the innocent Corey to anal sex, alcohol, and hard drugs, triggering an ugly adventure in serious drug addiction.

Who Is Corey Haim?

Corey Haim was born on December 23, 1971, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of Bernie Haim – his father, who worked as a cloth salesman, and the Israeli-born data processing mother, Judy Haim. His parents maintained their marriage for 18 years and divorced when their son Corey was just 11 years old.

He grew up in a Jewish family, together with his sister Carol and Daniel, who is his half-brother. His mother forced him to take drama lessons in pantomime and improvisation to help him overcome his natural shyness.

The young Corey Haim was not particularly fond of acting, rather his childhood interests were hockey, music, and collecting comics. However, when he started to accompany his older sister to auditions, he attracted the attention of the organizers and as a result, he started to get roles as a child actor.

When the aspiring actor began to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry, he had to leave North York’s Zion Heights Junior High School in the eighth grade to pursue his acting career. The actor was in a romantic relationship with Alyssa Milano from 1987 to 1990 but he never married and had no children before his death.

Corey Haim Net Worth

Records show that the net worth of the entertainer before his death was a ridiculous $5,000. In fact, his account was already in the red at the time of his death, it was so bad that even his funeral expenses were covered by others trying to pay their last respects to a deceased friend.

Charlie Sheen Sexual Accusation

The flood of accusations came from Corey’s old friend, actor Dominik Brascia, who told the National Enquirer that actor Charlie Sheen had sexually abused young Corey Haim on Lucas’ set. According to Dominik, Corey told him how Charlie had anal sex with him after he introduced him to drugs and alcohol.

The young actor went on to say that his abuser grew cold and pushed him away when he wanted a second taste, but years later Charlie and Corey had sex again, which Corey claimed he didn’t like a bit and was finally over Charlie.

Corey Feldman, who was the late actor’s close friend and co-star, confirmed Dominik’s portrayal of the incident and also stated that he too was a victim of sexual abuse by a Hollywood pedophile ring. Although he did not mention Charlie’s name, he said he had six names, one of which is still very powerful and influential in the entertainment industry today. Feldman believes that the truth will eventually come out when the time is right.

Charlie, for his part, has responded to the accusations made against him and categorically denied them. The star of the series Two and a Half Men, who now live with HIV, issued an official statement saying the incident never happened. However, this did not stop the Los Angeles police from investigating the accusations of sexual abuse.

Corey Haim’s Death

Shortly before his death, Corey Haim shared an apartment in Oakwood with his mother in California, where he was found unconscious on March 10, 2010, and rushed to the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, where he was subsequently pronounced dead at age 38.

It was originally suspected that the cause of his sudden death was a drug overdose. This is because several bottles of Haloperidol, Valium, and Vicodin were taken from his room. But then a thorough investigation of the cause of death revealed that the actor actually died a natural death. In fact, his death certificate lists “outpatient acquired pneumonia” and “diffuse alveolar damage” as immediate causes of death.

The deceased entertainer was buried on March 16, 2010, in the Thornhill Memorial Chapel in Toronto. The costs for his funeral were covered by a funeral home, as Corey Haim was already bankrupt at the time of his death.
