Susan Dey is an American actress who has been on the silver screen since the early 1970s and became famous for her role as Laurie Partridge in the sitcom The Partridge Family and as Grace Van Owen in L.A. Law – a drama series that ran for six years (1986 – 1992).

A little about her biography: Susan Dey was born on December 10, 1952, as Susan Hallock Dey in Pekin, Illinois. She attended Columbus Elementary School Thornwood, New York, and Fox Lane High School, where she was an active member of the school’s drama club and took part in several school performances, which obviously encouraged her interest and love of acting.

Before she began her acting career, Susan Dey worked a little as a model after being encouraged by her grandmother who sent her picture to a modeling agency. She got a professional contract and modeled for several magazines, including Seventeen, American Girl, and Simplicity.

From 1970 to 1974, she began acting in the television series The Partridge Family. She made her film debut in 1972 in the movie Skyjacked alongside Charlton Heston.

In 1977 she appeared in the short-lived sitcom Loves Me, Loves Me Not. In the same year, she appeared in the television movie Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night, and also in the film First Love directed by Joan Darling.

In 1981 she starred with Albert Finney in Looker – a science fiction film written and directed by Michael Crichton. She starred in Echo Park as a struggling waitress who had to take a job as a stripper, and as an assistant district attorney who later became a judge in L.A. Law.

In 1992, she hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live, starred in the sitcom Love & War that same year, and remained on the show until she was replaced in 1993. She produced and starred in Lies & Lullabies, which was later released on DVD as Sad Inheritance.

Susan Dey was married to Leonard Hirshan from 1976 to 1981 and together they have a daughter named Sarah (born 1978). She has been married to the television producer Bernard Sofronski since 1988. The couple has no children together, but Bernard has two children from his previous marriage to Myra Phyllis Tamarkin.
