Savannah Guthrie is a lawyer and broadcast journalist currently working for NBC News. She is the co-host of the popular NBC morning show Today, which she co-hosted with Hoda Kotb. Savannah Guthrie Biography (Age)

Savannah Clark Guthrie, as she was called at birth, was born on December 27, 1971, in Melbourne, Australia. Her father, Charles Guthrie, who died of a heart attack in 1987, was working in Melbourne at the time of her birth but moved with his family to the United States when Savannah was two years old. Her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was a housewife but returned to work after her husband’s death. Savannah Clark is also the name of her great-grandmother.

She grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where her family settled after moving from Australia. As a child, Savannah Clark grew up with her two siblings Camron (brother Camron) and Annie (sister Annie), who learned to play the piano and was also enthusiastic about tennis. She received her high school education in Tucson at the Amphitheater High School, graduated in 1989, and was a classmate of Michael Bates, the current NFL player, and Olympic medalist.

She enrolled at the University of Arizona – and was a member of the Arizona Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi – where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism cum laude in 1993. Immediately after college, she took a job and began working. Savannah worked on television for the ABC affiliate KMIZ in Missouri, and in 1995 she joined the NBC affiliate KVOA in Tucson.

She also worked in Washington, D.C. at WRC-TV, where she covered the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and also the 2001 anthrax attacks (aka Amerithrax) that targeted the U.S. senators, killing five people. After working for a while, she decided to go back to school, this time to study for a law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center. She would come out on top in the Arizona bar exams and receive a Juris Doctor degree in 2002.

Career

Armed with a law degree and membership in the Order of the Coif, Savannah Guthrie decided to practice in a law firm. She worked as a trial lawyer for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and then as a trial correspondent for CourtTV. Prior to joining NBC News in 2007, she covered several high-profile court cases, including the 2005 trial of Michael Jackson.

Savannah worked as Chief Legal Analyst at NBC News before starting work on the Today show in 2011. She was later appointed to replace Ann Curry as co-host of the show after it was promoted. She hosted the show with Matt Lauer before he left and was replaced by Hoda Kotb.

Savannah Guthrie, attorney, and journalist is currently married to Michael Feldman, but this is her second marriage. Initially, she was married to Mark Orchard, a British-born journalist. Orchard, who works as a television presenter for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), was married to Savannah Guthrie for four years (2005-2009).

The duo met when they were covering the Michael Jackson trial for their respective media companies, and at that time Orchard was married to a journalist colleague, Anne Kornblut. Their marriage never had a chance after he met Savannah Guthrie and after he divorced Kornblut, Savannah was next and the rest is history.

Guthrie began to meet with Michael Feldman, a former political advisor to Al Gore. The same year after their divorce from Orchard and after four years together, the couple got engaged in May 2013 and married the following year in their hometown of Tucson. The first fruit of the marriage, a daughter, was born five months later, on August 13, 2014, and she was named Vale Guthrie Feldman. She is not the only child in her marriage. On December 8, 2016, Guthrie and Feldman welcomed a boy named Charles Max Feldman.
