He recorded 86 Carries for 392 Rush Yards and 5 touchdowns and also had 3 receiving touchdowns. He played as a defensive back and registered 77 tackles with 3 sacks and 6 interceptions. Killebrew was a state and citywide high school award winner and was also named a defensive MVP. He was also honored twice in the All-State First Division and twice in the All-State Academic Honor.

College Career

As a safety/linebacker hybrid, Miles Killebrew was a starter in all his 4 seasons of college football. After completing his first season as a redhead, he joined the team as a redhead in 2012. He started in all 11 appearances of the team this season, with a total of 69 tackles (42 solos), the third-best tackles of the team, and a 5-pass defense leading the team. In his second season, he finished with 54 tackles (32 solos), four and a half tackles in defeats, 2 pass defenses, and 2 fumble recoveries. The second-longest fumble return in school history came when he returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown.

In his junior season, Miles Killebrew participated in all 12 games of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, scoring a total of 101 tackles (62 solos), the second-best of the team. He also had 2 tackles to lose, 4 forced fumbles, and three interceptions. Killebrew was elected captain of the football team in his senior year and he actually lived up to expectations when he led the team with 132 tackles (74 solos). This season he was appointed to the first team of All-Big Sky for defense and also to the second team of All-Big Sky for his performances in the special teams.

During his four-year college career, Miles Killebrew scored 356 tackles (210 solos), six and a half tackles for defeat, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions, 7 defended passes and 2 defensive touchdowns. The talented player was added to the All-Big Sky selection at the end of each season; All-Big Sky Honorable Mention (2012, 2013), All-Big Sky Second Team (2014), and All-Big Sky First Team (2015). At the end of his college career, he was designated as a draft for the third or fourth round.

Miles graduated from Southern Utah University in April 2016 with a degree in engineering. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the 111th overall draft choice, making him Southern Utah University’s highest draft choice. The talented young man received notice of his drafting by a phone call on the way to his college degree. In May 2016, he signed a 4-year contract with the Lions valued at US$2.34 million.
