Max Holloway Bio
The man who is paid to beat up others, Jerome Maxx Keli Holloway, was born on December 4, 1991. Although not much is known about the fighter’s upbringing, family, and early life, we do know that the UFC star graduated from Waianae High School in 2010, where he became interested in kickboxing and began learning. We also know that he grew up in Hawaii, which is most likely where he was born. He is of Samoan, English, and Hawaiian descent.
His UFC Career
As far as we know, Max started fighting back in high school. By the age of 19, he had won four fights and lost none. Max’s fighting style and talent earned him comparisons with former UFC fighting star Anthony Pettis. In the 2012 MMA Scouting World Report, Max was ranked number 7 in the featherweight class.

When Max Holloway made his debut at the 2012 Ultimate Fighting Championship, he was the youngest fighter on the UFC list. His first fight was against Dustin Poirier, and he lost by submission in the first round. It would be his only defeat in his debut year. In late 2012, Holloway fought a handful of times and emerged victoriously. His skills and talent from the scouting report proved to be right.
Holloway’s fighting styles are Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with the latter he could boast a purple belt. Between 2013 and 2014 Holloway fought five times and won three of them, winning the Performance of the Night award for his fight against Akira Corassani. His defeats between 2013-2014 he suffered against UFC superstar Connor Mcgregor and Dennis Bermudez in 2013. Holloway lost the fight against Connor McGregor by unanimous decision and lost to Dennis by a controversial split decision.
With the failures he suffered in 2013, Max came back better and stronger. The UFC fighter has not lost a fight since 2013 and eventually became the youngest UFC fighter to win ten fights after his fight with Charles Oliveira on August 23, 2015. He won the fight over TKO. In 2017, Holloway fought Jose Aldo in a title match on June 3, 2017. Holloway also won the fight over TKO and received his first Fight of the Night award.
Holloway could not maintain his fighting consistency in 2018 and withdraw from three different fights due to injuries. However, he is expected to fight Brain Ortega on December 8, 2018, at UFC 231 in Toronto, Canada.
Max Holloway, who is known for his tactical strength in the ring, has achieved many successes during his UFC career, including becoming the reigning UFC featherweight champion. A few of his other awards are – the most active victories in the UFC featherweight class, he is on par with the most TKO victories in UFC featherweight history, and has won The Night Award three times. In 2017 he was named Fighter of the Year by RealSport, MMAMania.com, Pundit Area, and MMAFighting.com. His UFC fight record is 22 fights, 19 wins, 9 TKOs, and 3 defeats.

Although the UFC star shares a son with a former child actress and model Kaimana Pa’aluhi, he is no longer married to her. Although the couple got married on February 14, 2012, after a long period of dating, they divorced shortly after the start of the marriage.
