Jordan Howard is an American professional football running back who is associated with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He was the 150th choice and 10th running back in the 2016 NFL selection. Howard wore the No. 24 jerseys and made his first appearance for the Bears in October 2016. He was one of the best running backs in the history of the Bears and has received several awards on his behalf.

Before his NFL career, Jordan Howard played college football at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and Indiana University. The Running Back Jordan Reginald Howard was born on November 2, 1994, in Gardendale, Alabama, the son of Dr. Reginald Bernard Howard and his wife Flora Howard. Unfortunately, his father died of pulmonary fibrosis in 2007. As he grew up, Jordan developed a keen interest in football and completed his high school career at Gardendale High School. During his high school years, he was able to acquire the skills for the running back position and finished his high school career with 21 touchdowns in 10 games and 1,388 yards for the Rockets. He also won the 2011 Birmingham News North/East Player of the Year award.

After graduating high school, Jordan Howard enrolled at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where he continued his college career in 2013. He made his UAB debut against the Louisiana State University Tigers. He recorded his season-high of 159 stormy yards against Florida International University and finished his rookie year with an average of 6.1 yards per bearing. The following year he averaged 132.3 rushing yards per game and also covered 1,587 rushing yards. After his wonderful performance this season, Howard was appointed to the first team of the All-Conference USA.

Before the 2015 season began, the UAB football team was closed, which led to Howard’s transfer to Indiana University, where he played for the Indiana Hoosiers football team. There he finished the 2015 season with 1,213 yards, 11 receptions, and a touchdown in 9 games.

During the 2016 NFL draft, Jordan Howard was selected by the Chicago Bears as the 150th overall candidate in the fifth round. Meanwhile, he was the 10th running back to be selected for the draft. He signed a four-year contract worth $2.58 million with the Bears, with an additional signing bonus of $248,022. In his rookie year, Howard was the fifth rookie to surpass the 1,000 Rush Yards He finished the season with an average of 5.2 yards per carrying and 1,313 rushing yards. He won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award, the FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award, and the Offensive Rookie of the month in the same year.

In 2017 Jordan played 16 games with an average of 4.1 carries per game, 9 touchdowns, and 1,122 rushing yards. He led the Bears in scoring, setting a career-high with 5 receptions, 167 yards and 36 carries against the Steelers in September 2017 and was the first player in the franchise’s history to break the 1,000-yard barrier in his first two seasons. He was also called to the 2017 Pro Bowl, where he replaced the injured David Johnson. He also received the Brian Piccolo Award for his remarkable performances.
