The star chef, Giada Pamela De Laurentiis, was born on 22 August 1970 in Rome, Italy, as the eldest child of Veronica De Laurentiis in her first marriage to Alex De Benedetti. Her mother was an actress while her father was an actor-producer at that time.

As a child, and like most young girls – she played in the kitchen or imitated cooking – Gaida did just that, as she often played, practiced, and did what she would later make a career out of playing in the family kitchen. As she grew older, she spent a good time in her grandfather’s restaurant called DDL Food show, as she came into contact with the business of the food industry.
After her parents divorced, Giada De Laurentiis moved to Southern California with her younger siblings and decided to carry her mother’s family name. At this time she enrolled in a course of study at Marymount High School in Los Angeles and then graduated. She then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology from the University of California in 1996.
At the time she was studying in L.A., Gaida worked as a cook in various restaurants to make ends meet. Before that, however, she had trained as a pastry chef at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, which together with her real-life experience helped accelerate her status and recognition as a professional chef.
She became best known as a food stylist when she styled a piece of edible food in Food and Wine Magazine in 2012. This led to the Food Network showing interest in her raw but great talent for food. Giada De Laurentiis started her Food Network cooking show “Everyday Italian” on April 5th, 2003, which was held during the day.
In 2005 she published her first literary work/cookbook Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes, which was followed by Giada’s Family Dinners in 2006. She also presented major shows such as Behind the Bash and Giada’s Weekend Getaways in 2006 and 2007, and as an outstanding lifestyle host, she won her first Daytime Emmy Award in 2008.
Just a few years ago, she opened her first restaurant called “Gaida” in 2014, The Cromwell, located on the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are already plans to open a second kitchen in Las Vegas, just as the “Pronto by Giada” is already fully functional as a restaurant for casual dining. Her plans include opening a restaurant called “GDL Italian by Giada” at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, Maryland, north of Washington, DC.

The personal family history of Giada De Laurentiis is a simple but sad story. Their marriage seemed like a fairy tale when it happened, but it was not to last any longer.
On 5 May 2003 Gaida married the famous fashion designer Todd Thompson and had a child with him. The child, a little girl, was named Jade Marie De Laurentiis-Thompson after she was born on March 29, 2008.
She revealed that the experience of having a child was indeed a very special one, but she does not wish to have more children than she already has. Her other babies, the TV show, her husband, and her daughter were just enough for her to manage her career well without losing focus on the trends in the industry.
Unfortunately, on December 29, 2014, the award-winning cook posted on her website the sad news that she has been separated from Todd since July of that year. The announcement meant that both decided to end the marriage and by September 3, 2015, the divorce was finalized.
It was reported that Gaida has a romantic relationship with television producer Shane Farley, but she has not come out to support or refute the allegations. For all we can assume about her, she could be with him.
