Not many child actors have been able to make the transition from the roles they originally knew to adult roles. But Christina Ricci, best known for the role of Wednesday Addams in the film series The Addams Family, has certainly made the transition well.

Nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe Award, the actress has achieved great commercial success with her films, which have grossed over $1.7 billion. Since recently taking a step back in her acting career, Ricci has gained a reputation for only taking independent film roles while working on other issues that are close to her heart, such as being a spokesperson for the National Network for Rape, Abuse and Incest (RAINN).

Christina Ricci Bio, Age

Christina Ricci was born on February 12, 1980, in Santa Monica, California. She is the youngest of four children of Sarah (née Murdoch), a model who became a real estate agent, and Ralph Ricci, a former gym teacher who became a lawyer and drug counselor. She is of Italian, Irish, and Scottish descent.

Although she was born on the West Coast, where she currently lives and earns her living, Ricci and her siblings grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. There she received all of her early education and attended a number of schools, including Edgemont Elementary School, Glenfield Middle School, and Montclair High School, before moving to New York to enroll in the Professional Children’s School to fulfill her burgeoning career in front of the camera.

The high school student caught the eye of a newspaper critic when she appeared in school performance at her elementary school. She then appeared in Saturday Night Live parody commercials before she was cast as Cher in Mermaids (1990). Her next role was Wednesday as Addams in The Addams Family (1991), a role she picked up again in the sequel Addams Family Values (1993).

The young actress was known as an outstanding actress in both films, and her commercial success allowed her to both gain popularity and to have the opportunity to choose the roles she wanted to play. This was the case when she got her first leading role in Casper (1995), which was commercially successful despite receiving mixed reviews. Unlike many other child actors, however, Christina Ricci quickly learned how to adapt to different roles, especially as she grew from the infantile, early teenage roles to the roles of a teenager and adult. During this time she appeared in films such as The Ice Storm (1997), The Opposite of Sex (1998), and Monster (2003).

More recently, Ricci has appeared in The Smurfs 2 (2013), Lizzie Borden Took an Ax (2014), and Mothers and Daughters (2016).

Christina Ricci Net Worth

Christina Ricci has made thousands of dollars since she was six years old when she started appearing in commercials and later on when she got roles in movies like “Mermaids” (1990) and “The Addams Family” (1991), among many others. It should therefore come as no surprise that the former child star is said to have an estimated net worth of $18 million.

The self-confessed shopaholic, who owns a whole range of jewelry from leading brands such as Cartier and Frank Gehry and once got rid of all the books in her private library and replaced them with her exquisite shoe collection, allegedly earns about $125,000 per episode, which benefits her lifestyle.

Husband

It is quite normal for Hollywood actors to get involved with each other, as they can better understand their partner’s schedule and the demands of their work. Many of these romances usually begin on set, as was the case between Christina Ricci and her husband, although he is not an actor.

Ricci is married to James Heerdegen, who works as a dolly grip or, more simply put, as a camera technician. The couple met on the set of the 2011 Pan Am series. It’s not clear exactly when they started meeting, but after their series was canceled halfway through the first season, the couple was repeatedly put on the road before officially announcing themselves as a couple later in 2012. In October of the same year, after seeing Ricci wearing an engagement ring, speculation about a possible engagement circulated.

The former child star then exchanged vows with her husband in an intimate ceremony at the Harold Pratt House And Peterson Hall in Manhattan, New York, on October 26, 2013. A few months later, nine months after their wedding date to be exact, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Freddie.
