Their Cute Love Story

A marriage that has lasted for more than two decades in an industry known for stormy relationships is worthy of acclamation. It is simply a far cry from the pattern seen in Hollywood in marriages and relationships with celebrities, where separation and divorce are more of a standard feature of such relationships.

This is not to say that the marriage is hitchhiking free or that it has kept its sails storm-free, but it is more like a survivor in the midst of all the disadvantages and many challenges that fight such a union. Nancy Carell and Steve Carell have been married since 1995 and are still one of the strongest couples in the showbiz industry. Let’s take a look at their cute love story.

How Did They Meet?

The beautiful love story told in The Second City, where Nancy was a student in a class where Steve taught. Contrary to what you might think, the two comedic powers didn’t get along at first, even though they were attracted to each other. Steve revealed that it was a kind of Herculean task to ask her out, as he beat around the bush for a long time.

At first, he thought that the lady he was interested in (Nancy) hated him because she was quiet around him, although he knew at first sight that she was the one for him. But the truth was that she was as nervous as he was and just trying to act cool.

Nevertheless, the thought of possibly being rejected awakened in him the memory of the first girl he had asked out on a date in eighth grade. In response, he received a clear NO and has since been careful to follow this path until Nancy’s acceptance.

He did not start with a fancy note but said something like: If he was ever going to ask someone out, it would be someone like her. Stupid, right? But you know what? Nancy was right on track to give a more awkward answer. She replied that if someone like Steve asked her out, she would definitely go out with him. If such a person ever existed and was sure that they existed, Steve would be there, of course. They were already in love with each other, but then they didn’t know how to present their cases.

Anyway, that was just the beginning of their happy ending. Later they met and had their first date at the jazz club, Green Mill. The duo made the alliance on August 5th, 1995. And the journey was marked by endless bliss.

Family Life, Children

The two share the same sense of humor, although Steve doesn’t think his wife is easy to laugh at. He counted this as one of the many reasons why he loves her. He sees Nancy as his barometer of whether jokes are good or not and says she challenges him intellectually and comedically. Comedic because she is not someone who laughs at everything everyone does.

He added that Nancy Carell, his wife, is the smartest and funniest person he has ever met. And that he never thought that such a smart and attractive woman would be even remotely interested in him.

She played the love interest of her husband several times. For example in The Office, where she portrayed one of his girlfriends and appeared with him in a number of shows, including The Daily Show.

Nancy Carell has said about her husband that he is very funny and doesn’t try so hard to be funny. They have two children, a daughter Elizabeth (born May 25, 2001) and a son John “Johnny” (born June 2004).

As one might expect, their children seem to have inherited their parents’ sense of humor, which their parents described in an interview as very pure and honest.

The super cute couple owns a house in both Los Angeles and Marshfield, Massachusetts, where they have the opportunity to escape from celebrity life in the summer. The duo also owns the Marshfield Hills General Store, which they purchased in 2009.
