She came from a middle-class family, with her father working as an aerospace engineer while her mother earned her living as a math teacher. Although the identity of her parents is not known, according to records, her marriage ended in divorce when the aspiring actress just turned 15. Nevertheless, she remained very close to both parents, especially her mother, to whom she donated a beach house in Malibu, which she bought with part of the money she earned at Three’s Company Show in 1976.
The actress spent her formative years in the San Fernando Valley at the side of her four siblings, consisting of two younger brothers and two older sisters, whose identities were never published. Jenilee was chosen as a replacement actress for Suzanne Somers, who played the role of Chrissy Snow, the sitcom blonde, but left after the start of the fifth season. Jenilee was cast as Chrissy Snow’s cousin Cindy Snow, who looked very different from her stupid blonde cousin; she looked more like an extremely clumsy farm girl.
Jenilee Harrison found herself on the set of the 1984 Dallas drama in which she played the role of Jamie Ewing Barnes; she appeared alongside actors such as C. Thomas Howell and James Garner, who played the role of a reluctant prostitute in the film called Tank. In 1985 she appeared as a cast member of Super Password. She appeared on the show two more times – the next year and in 1987.
