Born as Michael Anthony Napoli on October 31, 1981, in Hollywood, Florida. Like most American athletes, Mike played his beloved sport in high school. He attended Charles W. Flanagan High School and played for the Pembroke Pines-based high school team, the Flanagan Falcons. After graduating high school, Mike continued to play on the Louisiana State University baseball team until he graduated with 200 points.

After making a good impression in the smaller leagues, Mike Napoli made his debut in Major League Baseball on May 4, 2006, when he played for the Los Angeles Angels from Anaheim, where he met his MLB colleague Detroit Tigers. Mike Napoli became the Los Angeles Angels’ first choice catcher.
In 2007 Mike missed 12 games in the second half of the season due to an ankle injury. After returning to the field, he returned to the handicapped list after 5 games because he had pulled his hamstring.
