Meet Violet Krasinski: The Daughter Of Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

Violet Krasinski is the younger of the two daughters of actor couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The former is best known for playing Jim Halpert in the NBC comedy “The Office”, while the latter has appeared in “The Devil Wears Prada”, “Edge Of Tomorrow”, “A Quiet Place” and others.

Although Blunt and Krasinski do not shy away from showing their love for each other, the actors are quite reserved when it comes to revealing information about their daughters Hazel and Violet. The Hollywood couple is very conscientious about keeping their children out of the limelight.

John doesn’t post about his daughters on his social networks (and Emily doesn’t even have a social network!) and the girls have never accompanied their parents on red carpets or to other events. When Was Violet Krasinski Born?

Krasinski and Blunt’s second daughter, Violet Krasinski, was born in June 2016. However, news of her birth only appeared in the media a few weeks later, on 4 July.

Announcing the big event, her father, actor Krasinski, wrote,

“What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!! 2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th”

Why There Aren’t Many Pictures Of Violet Krasinski? 

Krasinski once stated via his Twitter that baby pictures should only come directly from the parents themselves. He made this statement when he announced the birth of his first daughter.

“Pics of kids should only come direct from parents. So I’m thrilled to introduce you guys to Hazel!!!,”

Krasinski wrote back in 2014, three months after the birth of his first daughter Hazel, along with the first official photo of his baby girl. Since then, the two actor-parents have mostly kept photos of their children off social media.

And that’s largely why people haven’t seen much of Hazel and her sister Violet.

The Reason Behind Her Name 

Blunt, speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show, said that the nature of her daughters’ names is due to her family’s tradition of choosing “spinster names”.

Emilia also described how Violet even forgot she was pregnant because she had already become the most selfish during her first pregnancy.

Blunt and Krasinski additionally told TODAY during their second daughter’s welcome that they had become pregnancy professionals by the time Violet was on the way. And they thanked their first daughter for that.

Blunt’s pregnancy with Violet coincided with the actress’ 2016 film The Girl on the Train.

Violet Krasinski Has One Elder Sister

Violet’s older sister. John and his wife’s first child, Hazel, was born on 16 February 2014.

Also in Hazel’s case, Blunt and her partner had announced the news of her arrival in the world only three months after her birth. And two years later, their second daughter, Violet, was born. So the girls are very much not twins, despite some rumors.

Violet is mainly of Polish and slightly Irish descent. On her mother’s side, Emilia is English, and of Scottish and Welsh descent.

Is John Krasinski’s Daughter, Violet Deaf?

This question and wonderment are reportedly due to John playing the father of actress Millicent Simmonds’ character Regan in the 2018 hit thriller A Quiet Place.

Interestingly, Simmonds is also deaf in real life; she lost her hearing due to a medication overdose before she was 12 months old.

However, she is not Krasinski’s real daughter, nor do his real daughters have any kind of speech impediment.

Violet Has A British Accent 

Although Violet and her sister Hazel have both American and British parents, the girls have adopted their mother’s accent when it comes to accents. This is probably because the whole family lived in England during Violet’s and her sister’s formative years.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in December 2020, Blunt said that her daughters have since developed British accents.

Speaking to Kimmel, the “Sicario” actress said that her daughters have started to sound quite British, especially the youngest, Violet, who she said has really embraced her new accent. Blunt added that her second daughter once sang to her almost with a cockney [accent].

John And Emily’s Daughter Once Lost Her Accent; Was It Violet?

Blunt once revealed that she was annoyed that one of her daughters was developing an American accent. However, it was her eldest daughter Hazel.

“Hazel had my accent for a really long time and would say things like ‘water’ [in a British tone], which I was really proud of. And then the other day she goes [in a whiny American accent], ‘Can I have some water?’ I was like, ‘Nooo!’”

Violet Krasinski Parents 

Violet’s parents are some of the most popular celebrity parents.

They started dating in 2008 and got married in July 2010 at George Clooney’s estate in Lake Como, Italy.

For a long time, the couple has enjoyed a reputation as one of the most loved couples in Hollywood. The parents of both daughters have exceptionally survived any negative publicity thrown in their direction.

It is worth mentioning here that Violet’s father, John, although good friends with his office counterpart, Jenna Fischer, has never met her.

John and Emily have made it clear that they don’t even want Hayza and Violet to know that they are famous. The couple has, however, repeatedly said that they want to hide their fame from their daughters.

The British-American parents of two children also do not seem to use the word “famous” in their home, especially when Violet and Hazelle are around.

In a new interview with the Sunday Times in May 2021, Blunt explained why she doesn’t want her two daughters to know that mum and dad John Krasinski is famous.

“I don’t want my kids to feel any more important or special or that there’s a glare on them any more than other kids,” she explained. “If they can remain oblivious for the longest time, I’d be thrilled. They don’t even want to see what I do,”

said the London-born actress. Asked if she and John’s children would ever be seen on the big screen, Blunt said,

“God no—no! Please God keep them off the stage.”

Speaking about the potential for her daughters to enter the film industry, Blunt said, “If they can stay oblivious the longest, I’ll be thrilled.”

On the other hand, Violet and her sister apparently did not know that their parents were famous when they were minors. Emilia says that her girls often don’t even want to see what their mother does.

In addition, Violet and her sister also allegedly don’t even like it when Blunt puts on her make-up. Nevertheless, Emilia once revealed that her first daughter, Hazel, already has some idea of her parents’ celebrity status.

How John And Emily Are Raising Violet And Her Sister, Hazel

While Violet’s parents do their best to keep her and her sister away from Hollywood, their mother has revealed that she raises her girls with empathy.

It was reported at the time that Blunt and her husband are working to teach their daughters empathy. The British actress said in an interview that she encourages empathy in her children, as well as for them to accept differences and not be afraid of them or resent people for them.

She also said that she talks to girls about making mistakes and tries to learn from them.

Violet Krasinski And Hazel Designed T-Shirts For A Charity

During the COVID-19 pandemic, John and Emily’s daughters, Hazel and Violet, decided to do their bit for the community.

Krasinski once told chef Guy Fieri on his YouTube show Some Good News that his two girls designed the t-shirts, with the proceeds going to the Restaurant Employees Relief Fund.

The Krasinski and Blunt families did this to help raise money for workers in the restaurant industry who suffered significant losses during the 2020 pandemic.

The celebrities’ children designed the t-shirts and bags and all proceeds went to Guy Fieri’s initiative with the Restaurant Employees Relief Fund (RERF).

Violet Has Gotten Mentioned On SNL 

Violet’s father Krasinski took his daughter’s name on SNL in January 2021. It turns out that John Krasinski, the actor in The Office, always has his daughters in mind, even when he’s busy hosting the wildly popular American show Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Krasinski, who made his SNL debut as a host in early 2021, spoke specifically to his daughters Hazel and Violet.

In his first episode of “SNL”, John participated in “The Office” theme monologue and various sketches, including one in which he created the lyrics to “The Office” theme song. At the end of the evening, the father of two wore a special shirt to honor his children and thanked musical guest Machine Gun Kelly and the cast during his closing remarks.

For Jack Ryan, the actor and director had sewn the initials of his daughters Hazel and Violet on his last suit. At the end of the show, Krasinski wore a black crew-neck sweater with “H + V” in white letters.

Violet Krasinski Didn’t Like Her Mother’s Role In This Film

Violet apparently did not find her mother’s role as the iconic Mary Poppins in the Disney film Mary Poppins Returns very impressive.

In fact, she turned out to be the only one in the family who was not interested in seeing it.

In a conversation with DeGeneres in January 2020, Blunt said that when John asked Violet if she would like to see the film, her initial response was “Mary Poppins”. But her daughter No 2 wanted to see Julie Andrews instead of her mum.

Violet Is Also Into Music

Although Violet and Hazel are still growing up, their father John revealed that the former is already showing an interest in music. Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show in February 2018, the Boston-born actor recalled a time when Violet started singing in an extremely low octave.

Explaining what happened, Father Krasinski said,

“And all of a sudden, Violet goes, ‘Yeah, baby. That deep! And I was like, ‘Emily, first of all, has she heard the song before? Second of all, what was that?’ And she’s like, ‘I have no idea.’”
