No wonder he made it into the National Football League (NFL) as a first-round candidate selected by the Kansas City Chiefs. In his career, he has reached many highs, though with some lows for the odd offense. Here you can learn all about him, including the people we found in his family, without forgetting his body measurements, which play a crucial role in the success of any American footballer’s career.

Marcus Peters’ Bio

Marcus was born on January 9, 1993, in Oakland, California, the son of a black American family. He grew up in Oakland, where he attended McClymonds High School, where he began playing soccer as a cornerback, wide receiver and kicker, and as a run-track. The boy was so good at football at such a young age that he was named the most valuable player in the Oakland Athletic League when he led his teammates to a perfect and first 12-0 victory ever. He also lacked nothing in athletics, achieving a personal best of 10.87 minutes in the 100-meter race and 22.91 minutes in the 200-meter race, both in the Oakland Athletic League championship as a senior international.

For his remarkable performances, he was named a three-star recruit and the 30th best cornerback in his class by Rivals.com. After graduating high school, Marcus Peters knocked on the doors of the Washington Huskies soccer team at the University of Washington, where he was well received and began studying and playing college soccer with them in January 2011.

In college, the young lad was retired in his first year (2011) but found enough playing time in his second season. Marcus scored 44 tackles, 3 interceptions, and one touchdown from the 13 games he played in 2012. In 2013 he improved with 55 tackles, 5 interceptions, and one sack. With the start of his junior season (2014), the Oakland-born footballer went downhill.

First, he was suspended by his team’s head coach, Chris Petersen, due to a sideline tantrum, and as if that wasn’t enough, he got into a fight with the team’s assistant coaches on November 5, 2014. This posed a disciplinary problem for the team, and for this reason, he was dismissed by the Washington Huskies, as the reports were wild about him. Marcus Peters had only 30 tackles in his last season in college football with 3 interceptions from the 8 games he played.

Well, like most teens his age and probably every other responsible adult, Marcus reportedly repented after his suspension and admitted that some of his college decisions were immature and hurt him.

He was ranked 18th in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. His rookie contract was a four-year $9 million contract that included a $5 million signing bonus. With this contract, his average annual salary was over $2 million.

As one might expect, Marcus Peters got off to a good start in his first professional season as a footballer, being named Pro Bowl 2016 and 2nd All-Pro Team, Marcus also won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and the AFC Defensive Rookie for December 2014, in addition to so many other honors and recognitions that were given to him thanks to his skills. He played for the Chiefs from the 2015-2017 season before being called up. With the red, gold, white and white team, Marcus Peters scored a total of 130 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, and 2 touchdowns.
