Julio Jones has been playing for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) as Wide Receiver (WR) since 2011 after he was called up by the franchise as 6th overall in the NFL Draft of the Year. In his eight seasons with the Falcons, he was named to the top team in the All-Pro Selection in 2015 after leading the league in the Receiver Wards. He has also been invited to play in 5 Pro Bowls. Jones has an average of 95.3 Receiver Yards per game, which is still the highest in NFL history.

Julio Jones’s full name is Quintorris Lopez Jones and he was born on February 8, 1989, in Foley, Alabama. He attended Foley High School in Alabama, where he played for the school team both as a wide receiver and in defense and achieved outstanding results. In his youth, he scored sixteen touchdowns with seventy-five passes that he caught over 1,306 yards.

In addition to soccer, Julio Jones also played basketball and was an amazing track and field athlete who was named “Gatorade T&F Athlete of the Year” in the state of Alabama in 2006-07. In 2006 and 2007 he was also named national champion in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Jones was not only good at soccer in high school, but also in athletics and represented the school in several competitions, including the High School Under Armour All-America Game. In 2007, he ran a 4.55-2. 40-yard sprint at the Nike camp in Baton Rouge, where he scored the best 38.6-inch (980 mm) vertical jump.

Jones was the first true WR rookie in the history of the Crimson Tide to start in a season opener. Soon he became both the opening player and the fans’ favorite. He finished his first season as “SEC Freshman of the Year” and was also appointed to the second-team All-SEC and the “SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team”.

At the end of his college career, he recorded eight 100-yard receiving games in his career, which is the second in the school’s history, and was also named to the All-SEC team’s first selection in 2010.

Julio Jones’ father left home when he was only five years old. Jones was raised alone by his mother, Queen Marvin, who had to work in a fast-food restaurant to feed herself and her two sons.

When Queen was pregnant with Jones, she was actually expecting a girl, and so she named the baby Quintorris while still in the womb, but when it turned out to be a boy, she kept the name anyway. When Jones was in the seventh grade, she began calling him Julio, the name by which he is popularly known today. Jones has an older brother Phillip, who lost an arm in 2014 due to gunshot wounds.
