He was born on August 12, 1984, as Joshua Allan Murray in Syracuse, New York, and attended the Jesuit College in Tampa, Florida. At the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft, held in June of the same year, he was immediately drawn into the second round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
He played only five seasons before his career ended due to injury. He had played for West Virginia Power and Brevard County Manatees in 2005 and 2006 seasons before retiring in 2007 after a stint with Charlotte County Redfish.
