David Kenneth Harbour was born on April 10, 1975, in White Plains, New York. His parents Kenneth and Nancy (née Riley) Harbour work in the commercial and private sectors of the real estate industry respectively.

Harbour was a schoolmate with future acting colleagues; Sean Maher and Eyal Podell during his time at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, New York. After high school Harbour went to Hannover, New Hampshire where he attended Dartmouth College and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

And then came 1999, when David Harbour decided to start his acting career professionally and started his career in the theatre. He made his debut in the revival of The Rainmaker. Harbour began his acting career the same year with a role in an episode of Law & Order. He was to appear in several roles in the series.

He made his feature film debut in the title character of the biographical film Kinsey. Harbour subsequently improved his resume with roles in Quantum of Solace, Revolutionary Road and the State of Play. On the small screen, he had recurring roles in Pan Am, The Newsroom, Rake, Manhattan and State of Affairs.

Harbour’s role as Chief Jim Hopper was his biggest in recent years. The role earned him his first primetime Emmy nomination in the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” category, which he lost to Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones.

He earned $80,000 per episode in the first and second seasons of the series and $350,000 per episode in season 3. Harbour continues to be active in film, television and theatre. He played the title character in Hellboy.

Married, Wife, Dating, Girlfriend

At the time of writing this article, David Harbour is in a relationship with the singer, songwriter and actress Alison Sudol. The couple went public with their romance during the 2018 awards season.

The unveiling could not have come at a better time, as 2018 was indeed a good year for the actor’s career. In that year he received the most nominations for awards than in any other year. At all the awards ceremonies that Harbour attended, he came with Sudol in hand.

One of the moments that should remain indelible in their minds was the Critics Choice Awards ceremony when Harbour stopped by to give Sudol a kiss on the cheek on his way to his Best Supporting Actor award in a drama series. It was an enchanting sight.

Harbour’s lady has been in the business since 1997 when she began her career as a singer nicknamed A Fine Frenzy. From 2007 to 2014 she worked actively as a musician. Her acting career began in 2014 when she got a recurring role in the first season of Transparent.

Her big breakthrough with Queenie Goldstein came in 2016 in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She resumed her role in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts in 2018: The Crimes of Grindelwald. In 2017 Alison Sudol resumed the recordings, this time with her real name. Born as a child of parents who taught dramatic arts, Sudol has a soft spot for literature. She plays piano and guitar.
