Zach Collins is a professional American basketball player who holds the position of power forward/center for the NBA Portland Blazers. The player was first drafted by the Sacramento Kings during the 2017 NBA draft at Gonzaga University. In that year he was selected as the tenth overall player, but later he was transferred to the Portland Blazers.
The Power Forward was born on November 19, 1997, as Zach Collins in northern Las Vegas, Nevada. His nationality is American, while he has a white ethnic background. Zach started playing basketball at a very young age and from high school pursued his dream of becoming a superstar.
He attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. There he played basketball with the high school team and led them to win four state championships from 2013 to 2016.

During his high school career, he was one of the greatest players on the court, along with others such as Stephen Zimmerman, Bishop Gorman, and Chase Jeter, who were also 7-footers. Collins also broke the school record for having the most rebounds and blocks in his senior year. On average he had 6.4 blocks and 14 rebounds.
At the end of his high school career, Jack Collins was awarded four stars by ESPN and Scout.com, five stars by Rivals.com, and 247Sports, while he was nominated for the All-American Game 2016. Zach was also involved in his college basketball career at Gonzaga University.
When he played for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Collins averaged 5.9 rebounds and 10 points per game as a rookie in the 2016/17 season. He also led the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Division 1 tournament. At the end of his rookie season, Collins signed up for the NBA Draft but waived the remaining three years of his college qualification.
Professional Career
Zach Collins has been invited to the NBA combine exercise for the 2017 NBA Draft. After he had shown a wonderful performance, the player was projected as the first round. During the 2017 NBA Draft, he was awarded a place with the Sacramento Kings with the tenth overall selection but was soon on his way to the Portland Blazers for a trade.
Zach Collins joined the Blazers and signed his contract as a rookie on July 3, 2017. By the end of his first professional season, he had played a total of 66 games for the Blazers, averaging 3.3 rebounds and 4.4 points per game. He also participated in the playoffs, averaging 3.0 rebounds and 7 points per game.

Collins was born the son of American parents Michael Collins and Heather Collins. His father, Michael, played basketball for New Mexico State University before his career ended after an injury he sustained in his first year of college. Zach Collins is not his parents’ only child, he also has a sibling, a sister named Taylor Collins.
Zach Collins has an amazing friend, Angelica Payne. Just like Collins, Payne is from Las Vegas and is currently studying at the University of California in Los Angeles.
