Who Is Nicola Elizabeth Frost? Truth About Tom Holland’s Mother

Nicola Elizabeth Frost, or simply Nicky Holland, is an English photographer, philanthropist, and the mother of Spider-Man actor Tom Holland. Holland’s mother, Nicola, is a woman of artistic ability.

However, she has become more popular because of her relationship with her eldest son Tom. In fact, it could be said that not only her career, but that of the entire Holand clan, primarily began only after the actor Peter Parker became famous for his portrayal of the spider-skater.

Niki is, however, an acclaimed cinematographer. Behind the scenes, she is also the wife of another media personality, Tom’s father, Dominic Holland. Find out more about the woman who gave birth to and raised the nation’s favorite superstar, who is now famous for playing the friendly neighbor.

Who Is Nicola Elizabeth Frost? Her Bio 

As a professional photographer, Nicole Frost specializes in family photography, wedding and actor headshots, social media, and the corporate market. Born on 3 September 1967 in London, England, Frost has a design degree from Leeds University and over twenty years of experience as a professional photographer.

She is the daughter of Robert Walter Frost and Christina Winifred Berry and possibly the granddaughter of Walter Frost and Fanny E. Brown. Although Frost has not yet revealed whether she is an only child or has siblings, it is known that many of the men in her family are carpenters.

Later, her eldest son, Tom, also took up the trade. She advised him to learn Plan B skills in case things didn’t work out with acting. So Nicky encouraged the Uncharted star to take a carpentry course in case his film career got into difficulties.

She also took him to his first ballet class and his last dance class. Nicky, who is now 54, thought he knew how to dance because he used to dance when he was a kid to a Janet Jackson song she used to play.

Nicola Elizabeth Frost’s Relationship With Her Husband, Dominic Holland

Frost married comedian and writer Dominic Holland in September 1994. The former woman has often revealed this date as her wedding anniversary on her Instagram account Nicky Holland Photography.

Elizabeth met Dominic at Leeds University, where they were both students; Dominic was studying Textiles at the time.

As well as being an author and comedian, Nicky’s spouse is also a broadcaster. He once performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991.

He subsequently won the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at Edinburgh. Over the years, Nicky’s husband returned to perform there many more times. Some of Dominic’s most notable books include Only in America, The Ripple Effect, and Eclipsed.

The latter was written to chronicle the meteoric rise to fame of his and Nicky’s first son Tom while contrasting it with his own success.

She Has Four Sons

Nicola Elizabeth Frost and Dominic are the parents of four children together. The most famous of them, Tom, was born in June 1996, after which they welcomed twins Sam and Harry in February 1999. Their fourth and youngest child, Paddy, was born in December 2004.

Almost all of their sons have been involved in film careers in one way or another, and each of them has also appeared on the screen.

Nicola Elizabeth Frost Didn’t Like This Film Of Her Son, Tom Holland 

Apparently, of all Tom’s films, Nicola, who is five and a half meters four centimeters or a little over, did not like this particular character, or rather the scene with her son.

In an interview with Esquire magazine in February 2021, Tom revealed that he had sent his mother an extract from his 2021 tragedy drama film Cherry and, as you would expect from a mother, she was very upset.

Directed by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, Cherry is a crime drama in which Nicki’s son Tom plays an army medic who returns home from the Iraq war with PTSD and soon becomes addicted to heroin.

When the eldest of the Holland brothers sent his mother film footage of him touching himself in a prison cell, he didn’t get the reaction he expected.

“I was like, ‘This is how my day’s going,’ and she was furious with me,”

Said the 25-year-old actor. In contrast, Tom’s title role in “Cherries” didn’t exactly please his mother.

Tom later explained that he hadn’t done the acting, sending the scene to his mother’s mind. He also regretted his initial thought,

‘Do you know who would really like to see this? My mum.’

He said it was a really stupid move. The ‘Far From Home’ star revealed that his mother didn’t like her son playing such a critically difficult role either. Hollande called the decision “the biggest mistake”.

Tom Holland Credits His Success To His Mom, Nicola 

Tom has said more than once that he loves his photographer mum.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the young adult let everyone know what an “amazing lady” his mother Nicola Frost is.

“I owe everything to my lovely mom. She did everything for me growing up when I was going for auditions….My mom’s an amazing lady,”

the actor stated along with the show’s host Colbert. The London-born star says his mother is also his best critic.

And despite his fame, Nicky still gives him notes on how to read his lines correctly and reminds him of the stretching exercises he needs to do before he starts playing the little stuntman.

Nicola Elizabeth Frost Set Up A Charity Organization For Her Sons 

Nicky and her husband Dominic are also responsible for founding The Brothers Trust, a charity that uses Tom’s fame to shine a spotlight on charities in need of help and publicity.

The Hollywood couple set up the organization in 2017, with Tom at the center of all fundraising events. All the other children of Nicole and her spouse, however, support their older brother.

Taking advantage of Tom’s reach and popularity, the Foundation occasionally tries to organize several events each year, with the funds raised going to the charities supported by the Holland family.

The Trust is particularly keen to draw attention to charities that are struggling to find their place in the competitive non-profit sector.

The Brothers Trust also supports those groups that can best demonstrate that they are using funds most effectively to benefit people in need rather than a bloated administration.

Is Nicola Elizabeth Frost As Rich As Her Son, Tom Holland? 

It didn’t take long for Nicki’s son Tom to become one of Marvel fans and Hollywood’s favorite actors to play Spider-Man. But even more, interestingly, it took even less time for Nicole’s son to become part of billion-dollar movies.

It’s pretty amazing to see Holland jump from a $250,000 salary in 2016’s Civil War to over $10 million in royalties in 2021’s No Way Home. And there could hardly be any argument as to the estimate of his net worth, which currently rests above $18 million.

Given the above undertakings, it seems less likely that Nicole is as rich as her No. 1 son. Although that shouldn’t even be a question, given that the Avengers actor has often implied that his parents are more important to him than anything else.

Other Facts 

Tom once revealed that his mother Nicole still makes him do the dishes.

It was she who reproached the Spider-Man producers for giving Tom enough toilet breaks, which the actor claims helped.
