Luke Cunningham Wilson, as his full name is, was born on September 21, 1971, in Dallas, Texas. He is the youngest of his parents’ three sons, Laura Cunningham Wilson, a photographer, and Robert Andrew Wilson (1941-2017), who worked as an advertising manager at KERA, a public television station.
The entire family built a career in entertainment, as his older brothers Andrew and Owen Wilson are all Hollywood actors and directors. And all three siblings attended St. Mark’s School of Texas, where Luke Wilson was class president in his first year.
After school, he joined the family’s profession and took on his first major acting role in the short film Bottle Rocket (1994), a film co-written by his brother Owen.
To expand his career, he moved with his brothers to Hollywood, where he got another film role alongside Calista Flockhart in the drama Telling Lies in America in 1997.
