Other Facts You Need To Know About Lindsay Arnold

Early Talent

Lindsay Arnold is one of those stars who showed signs of promise from childhood on. Her talent was discovered at the age of four and she had the privilege of being nurtured by dancer and choreographer Mark Ballas and his mother, ballroom dancer, and dance teacher Shirley Ballas.

Mother’s Role

Lindsay Arnold’s mother, Mindy Arnold, played a central role in the dancer she has developed into today. Since she was a dancer herself, her mother owned a dance school, and it was there that Lindsay received her training, as from then on she amazed the world in front of her and improved from performance to performance. As she grew up, she participated in several dance competitions, which helped her to develop better.

Diversity

She did not allow herself to be stereotyped into a certain kind of dancing. Since she was nursed in her mother’s dance studio, she had the opportunity to learn various dance genres, including ballet, jazz, Latin, hip-hop, ballroom dance, and even various contemporary dance forms.

Competitions

At the beginning of her professional career as a dancer, Lindsay participated in and won the Open Latin Youth Championships of the United States and the Open Latin Junior Championships of the United States. She also took part in the World Junior Latin Team Match, but could not win because she finished in the top three.

Adventure With Dance Shows

So You Think You Can Dance

Following her mother’s advice, Lindsay Arnold went to audition for So You Think You Can Dance. She was 18 years old at the time, and the show, which was a popular dance show in the USA, was in its ninth season. She made it through the auditions as the youngest participant and was paired with martial arts fusion dancer Cole Horibe. With Horibe, she met chemistry, and they excelled until the last few weeks when the dance partners were mixed.

She would be paired with Alex Wong and Jakob Karr before she dropped out of the competition. Her performance, however, earned her a huge fan base and also an invitation to tour 30 cities in the company of the world’s best dancers. The tour helped to improve her reputation and sell her image as a professional dancer.

Dancing With The Stars (DWTS)

In the 16th season of the celebrity dance show Dancing with the Stars she joined the show as the second youngest dancer in history. She was paired with Victor Ortiz, which seemed to be a good thing as she finished the competition in 8th place. In the following seasons, she continued to perform in the show.
