Giancarlo, who has a theatrical background, began acting at the age of 8. He made his Broadway debut in 1966 when he played the slave child at Shirley Jones’ side in the musical Maggie Flynn.

The actor also earned a two-year degree in radio and television communication at Elizabeth Seton College in New York. This was followed by many plays, and he also secured roles in films and television programs in the 1960s, early 1970s, and 1980s, where he was able to play more significant roles on television.
