Buehler plays in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made the MLB draft in 2015 but did not make his major league debut until 2016.

Walker Buehler Biography

The Dodgers’ pitcher was born on July 28, 1994, on Walker Anthony Buehler in Lexington, Kentucky. He grew up with his siblings Brady Buehler – who also played baseball for the Valor Christian University baseball team before graduating in 2018 -, Bella Walke, and Delaney Buehler.

Since he was a small child, Walker had always played baseball, and when he went to Henry Clay High School, he continued the sport. Not only was he a good student, but he was also a good athlete, achieving a 4.3 GPA grade point average and 30 in the ACT. When he finished, his high school withdrew his number 12 jersey because he had such a great influence on the school team.

In 2012 he was drafted into the MLB by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but instead of signing, he decided to go to Vanderbilt University where he played and was part of the 2014 College World Series Championship team.

MLB Career

In 2015, Walker Buehler made the MLB draft, where he was ranked 24th by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and soon after signed a contract that earned him a $1.78 million bonus. Nevertheless, it took until 2016 before he was able to start his career as a professional baseball player due to a “Tommy John” operation. Upon his return, he played for the Arizona League Dodgers in the Minor League.

In his debut game, the 2015 Dodgers’ No. 1 showed a massive showing, and after beating three of the bats he fielded and then pulling all six back, the Dodgers’ No. 1 team was able to play in the Minor League. Soon after, he moved up to the Midwest League for the Great Lake Loons. In 2017 he played in the California League for Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and then was promoted to the Class AA Tulsa Drillers in the Texas League.

Eventually, he was promoted to a Triple-A promotion to play mid-season for the Oklahoma City Dodgers, and at the end of the season, he was a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League of the Year. He was then added to the Major League line-up.

Walker made his Major League debut against the Colorado Rockies and scored his first strikeout against Charlie Blackmon. His first win, however, came against Philadelphia Phillies. His first league start came in 2018 when he scored five goalless innings against the Miami Marlins.

After only starting in the Major League for the third time, Walker Buehler helped the Dodgers score the first combined no-goal in the team’s history with six innings. Although it was the 23rd zero goal in the team’s history, it was the first in combination with Tony Cingrani, Yimi Garcia, and Adam Liberatore, all of whom scored one goal each to seal a 4-0 win over the San Diego Padres.

In addition, for the first time in his career, he managed to beat the Colorado Rockies in the NL Tie-Breaker game against the MLB (RBI) in only 47 appearances.

Since he is not one of those people who know much about them in public, it is known that his parents are Karen Walker and Tony Buehler. His stepmother is Lucy Buehler. According to some reports his father was also a great athlete when he was an athlete at Anderson High School in Cincinnati. This dates back to the 1980s.

Among the people who influenced and motivated him is his grandfather, Dave Walker (dad). He was the one who taught him to throw with an exaggerated movement when he was a child.
