The following year she released her first album “Diamond Life”, which was a huge success, topping several album charts nationally and internationally. The band’s second album, “Promise”, was released in 1985 and, like the debut album, was also well received commercially.

The promise became Sade’s first album, which reached its peak on the US Billboard. The album had two singles: “Never as Good as the First Time” and “The Sweetest Taboo”. The latter, which won almost all music rankings, became one of Sade’s greatest hits of all time and brought her great popularity in the industry.

Sade’s third album “Stronger than Pride” followed in 1988 and in 1992 the fourth album “Love Deluxe” was released. After an eight-year break from music and the spotlight, Sade’s fifth studio album “Lovers Rock” came through in 2000 and became a huge success. After the album’s success, Sade received a Grammy for the best pop vocal album in 2002. After another 10-year hiatus, Sade’s sixth studio album “Soldier of Love” was released in February 2010 and received many positive reviews from critics. The following year, the band started their Once in a Lifetime tour, which took them to different parts of the world, including Australia, Asia, and America, while promoting the album.

Sade Adu and her band released the single “Flower of the Universe” in 2018 as the soundtrack for the Disney movie “A Wrinkle in Time”.
