Born in Yardley Pennsylvania Robert Costa was born on October 14, 1985, in Richmond Virginia USA to parents Thomas E. and Anne-Dillon D. Costa. He attended Pennsbury High School where he was recognized for his social skills and flair for journalism. Robert Costa will be remembered in high school for his ability to bring top musicians like Maroon 5 John Mayer and Eve 6 to perform at school events.
His journalism career also began at high school where as a reporter for “The Bucks County Courier Times” he interviewed mostly musicians bands and reviewed concerts in the Philadelphia area earning up to $50 per article. Robert Costa’s Career
He graduated from Notre Dame University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from 2004 to 2008 and remains a member of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Committee of the John W. Gallivan Program in Journalism Ethics and Democracy. Robert Costa continued his studies at the University of Cambridge where he obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science in 2009. During his studies, he was also an active member of the Cambridge Union debating society.
He has interned at Charlie Rose of PBS This Week of ABC with George Stephanopoulos and in the United Kingdom House of Commons. While still attracting crowds to college he hosted and produced an interview program for NDTV called Office Hours.
After graduating Costa became Robert L. Bartley Fellow at the Wall Street Journal and in 2010 he worked as a journalist at the National Review a bi-monthly American magazine devoted to political social and cultural affairs. In 2012 he was promoted to a higher position as editor of the magazine in Washington. During his stay, he also worked as an associate for CNBC and MSNBC. In January 2014 he left National Review to officially join the Washington Post and in December of the following year became a political analyst for NBC and MSNBC.
Apparently appreciated for his hard work on the Republican Party in Congress when the US federal government closed in 2013 Robert Costa was named “the most important journalist in the country”. Moreover, New York magazine nicknamed him the golden boy of the government’s closure.
Robert Costa covers presidential politics and Congress and has often been described as a “Trump Whisperer” because of the various in-depth interviews he has had with Donald Trump. His recent work has focused on power struggles within the Republican Party and the political career of President Donald Trump so far.
