His parents belonged to the working class. While his father worked as an electrician in the Union, his mother worked as a real estate agent. His mother and father are of Greek, German and English descent, respectively.

Education And Politics

Priebus’s interest in politics began early when he volunteered for his first political campaign at the age of 16. He attended Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1990 before moving to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. There he majored in English and political science and was also a member of the Delta Chi Brotherhood. He served as Student Body President and graduated with an honor- cum laude Latin medal in 1994.

He continued his interest in politics and after graduating from university served as Secretary of the Wisconsin State Assembly Education Committee. Priebus decided to put his law degree to good use and moved back to Wisconsin to become a member of the State Bar Association. Over time, his move to Wisconsin led him to join the Wisconsin law firm of Michael Best and Frederick LLP. In 2006, he eventually became a partner in the firm.

Reince Priebus’ Political Career

In 2007, Reince Priebus was the elected leader of the Wisconsin Republican Party, and to this day he is the youngest person to hold this role. Two years later, in 2009, Reince Priebus became a major advisor to the Republican National Committee. During his tenure as chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party, he helped lead the party to victory in the 2010 Wisconsin elections, which had previously been held by the Democratic Party. His party eventually won the Wisconsin Senate and State Assembly. A Republican candidate was eventually elected governor. Reince Priebus was also responsible for uniting the Wisconsin Tea Party movement and the mainstream of the Republican Party. In 2010, he then resigned and ran for the office of Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Reince Priebus was finally elected Chairman of the Committee on 14 January 2011 after seven ballots. As Chairman, his goals were to reduce debt, rebuild the organization’s finances, and work to improve relations with key donors and party leaders. In addition, he particularly wanted to achieve a strong voter mobilization program. True to his goals, Reince Priebus raised more than $88 million and helped reduce the RNC’s debt to $11.8 million by the end of 2011. In 2012, the organization had no debt as Reince turned to donors and improved relations with them.

Presidency Office

Reince Priebus was known for frequently criticizing Obama and other Democratic leaders. He served three terms as chairman of the RNC, making him the first chairman to lead the committee three times in a row, with the president belonging to a Democratic party.

Before serving as President Donald Trump’s first chief of staff, he always criticized Donald Trump publicly, which led some of Trump’s advisors to question his loyalty to the elected president. Trump went ahead, however, and announced that Reince would be his chief of staff. He then took office on January 20, 2017, and his position involved taking control of who could and could not enter the Oval Office.

While serving as Chief of Staff, Reince was accused of violating White House policy by politically interfering with pending investigations when he called on the FBI to end allegations that President Trump’s staff had contacted Russian intelligence. Anthony Scaramucci, the White House communications director, had also accused Reince of being responsible for the leaks at the White House. He did so in a series of tweets that he later deleted

Resignation

It is speculated that all these allegations led to Reince’s resignation as Chief of Staff, as he declared that he would resign on 27 July 2017. President Trump then announced on Twitter John Kelly as Reince’s replacement. Although Reince resigned on July 27, he was at the White House until August 25, where he served as the President’s Special Advisor to assist John Kelly in his new role at the White House. Reince’s tenure as Chief of Staff earned him the shortest tenure in history as permanent Chief of Staff.

After leaving the White House, Reince continued his private practice as President and Chief Strategist of the law firm of Michael Best and Friedrich LLP. He also signed a contract with the Washington Speakers Bureau as Speaker. He is now leaving Washington.

In 2008, the Milwaukee Business Journal named Reince one of the 40 under-40s in the city. Since he grew up in an old denomination, the Greek Orthodox Church had his membership for his entire life. He occasionally enjoys playing the piano and has won occasional music competitions.
