Rashad Anton Evans was born on September 25, 1979, at Niagara Falls in New York City, New York. He is a well-known American former mixed martial artist. His mother’s name is Shirley Ann Evans and he also has an older brother named Lance Evans. Rashad Evans had his high school education at Niagara Wheatfield High School, where he twice became an All-State Wrestler and from there he entered the wrestling program at the Community College.

He competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championships, where he finished fourth. Evans also attended Michigan State University in Niagara County, where he earned a B.Sc. in Psychology in 2003 and participated in the Big Ten Conference for the State of Michigan.

Rashad Evans’ first interest in his childhood was in playing football, but later he decided to take a greater interest in wrestling, which led him to join his college wrestling team. He has a black belt in Ganidojutsu and studied karate as a child. His impressive wrestling ability was discovered by his coach, who helped him train him even harder, and Evans was able to compete internationally with the help of a good coach and hard work.

As a child, he liked to fight because he grew up in a bad neighborhood where fighting was a normal thing and he mostly wrestled with his brother. Before his career in mixed martial arts (MMA) he once worked in the security department of a hospital.

In 2004, Rashad Evans took part in five professional mixed martial arts fights, winning all five of them, which allowed him to be selected as one of the nine heavyweights competing in Ultimate Fighter 2. He reached the final of the show.

His first fight took place in April 2006 against Sam Hoger, who was in the semi-finals of The Ultimate Fighter’s first season, and Evans was able to win a split decision. They were followed by wins over Stephan Bonnar, Jason Lambert, Sean Salmon, Michael Bisping, Chuck Liddell, and a draw with the UFC Champion in the semi-final in the semi-final against Tito Ortiz.

In December 2008, Evans faced light heavyweight champion Forest Griffin in a title fight. At the end of the fight, he won and became the new UFC light heavyweight champion. Evans was honored with the Rashad Evans Light Heavyweight Champion Day on January 1, 2009, in his hometown of Niagara County, New York City.

The fighter has won many awards during his wrestling career including Gladiator Challenge, Knockout of the Night, Fighter of the Year in Sherdog, and many others.
