Professional Career
As an amateur, Patrice Bergeron played for several teams in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In the second round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he was drawn in by the Boston Bruins as the 45th overall, marking the beginning of his long professional career.
As a rookie, Bergeron was selected for the 2004 NHL YoungStars game. In the end, he finished the season with 39 points in 71 games. In the 2005/2006 NHL season, the Bruins’ team was built around Bergeron, and as he met expectations, he ended the season with team tops and a career highlight of 31 goals and 73 points.
