Ozzy Osbourne’s Bio

John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne was born on 3 December 1948 in Aston, United Kingdom. His mother, Lilian Osbourne, was a factory worker, while his father, John Thomas “Jack” Osbourne, worked as a toolmaker for the General Electric Company. Osbourne has three older sisters named Jean, Iris, and Gillian and two younger brothers named Paul and Tony.

He dropped out of school at 15 and worked several small jobs to earn a living. Ozzy was sent to prison for 6 weeks because he was unable to pay the fine he was fined for robbing a shop. His father had refused to pay the fine to teach his son some discipline.

As a teenager, Ozzy was inspired to become a music star when he listened to the Beatles’ first hit, She Loves You. In his opinion, it was in this song that the dream of becoming a music star was born. This childhood dream has certainly come true for Ozzy.

He was first hired as a singer when Geezer Butler formed his first band in 1967. The band ran under different names before they finally decided on “Black Sabbath”. After 11 years as frontman of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne was dismissed from the group and replaced by Ronnie James Dio. His alcohol and drug abuse were the reasons for his expulsion.

The rock star rose above this setback and embarked on a highly successful career whose longevity earned him the title “Godfather of Heavy Metal”. Since then, he has reunited with Black Sabbath several times to record album 13 in 2013 and to make a farewell world tour.

Who is Ozzy’s Wife? Is He Divorced?

Ozzy Osbourne first married Thelma Mayfair. The two met in a nightclub in Birmingham where Thelma Mayfair worked. They married in 1971 and took in their children Jessica and Louis. Osbourne also adopted Thelma’s son Elliot Kingsley.

However, Osbourne was anything but a model father; he was mostly absent as he often toured with Black Sabbath. Also, his alcohol and drug abuse didn’t make it better. The marriage was officially ended in June 1982.

His second marriage was with Sharon Rachael Arden. The two met while Sharon worked as a receptionist for her father Don Arden; her father was the manager of Black Sabbath at the time. Ozzy and Sharon were married on 4 July 1982, and according to him, he decided to close the union on American Independence Day so as not to forget their wedding day in the future.

Sharon Rachael Osbourne is an English television presenter, media personality, author, talent manager, and all-around businesswoman. She was a judge on America’s Got Talent. Together they have three children named Aimee, Jack, and Kelly.

Ozzy’s marriage to Sharon ended in 2016 because Ozzy Osbourne was caught cheating. He had been having an affair with his hairdresser, Michelle Pugh, for four years. Sharon was able to confirm the rumors of her former husband’s indiscretions by going through his e-mails.

The legendary musician blamed his love of alcohol for his infidelity and said it had led him to make “bad personal choices”. According to his now-former wife Sharon, she had previously caught him in bed with two of her nannies. For a woman who had gone through his dark years of drugs and so-called “demons” with Osbourne, the affair with the celebrity hairdresser was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
