First of all, he is a child. No! Seriously, no pun intended. NBA YoungBoy was born on October 20, 1999, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. So you see, he is indeed a “YoungBoy”.
He is an American citizen, but of African-American origin. His childhood was not idle, as his mother did not do much to raise him. Also, his father was hard to be seen in the picture – the man was sitting behind bars and served a 55-year prison sentence. The law caught up with him when Youngboy was only 8 years old. So the rapper was raised by his maternal grandmother until she died of heart failure.
It is believed that this boy received his musical talent from his mother, who was once a rapper. Youngboy began writing songs and singing when he was much younger. He dropped out of high school in the 9th grade to concentrate on music, and soon he started producing music at the age of 14. In 2014 he released his first mixtape “Life Before Fame”. Mixtapes 1, 2, and 3 of “Mind of a Menace” followed. The following year NBA Youngboy and his rapper colleague Scotty Cain dropped out. In December of the same year, he decided to translate his anger into lyrics. He released a rap-beef song, which was answered by another rap-beef song of his rival. As expected, this rap battle received so much attention and, interestingly, became the first NBA date with fame.

His musical career began to take shape, but then in November 2016 he got a scratch with the law and had to sit behind bars for a while. This slowed him down, but there was no stopping him. Youngboy released his first album “Until Death Call My Name” on April 27, 2018.

In February 2018 he has arrested again for assault, weapons violation, and kidnapping. According to what we found out, he was locked up but released on $75,000 bail in March 2018. The case is still hanging around his neck.
