Early Life and Rise to Fame
Michelle Ingrid Williams was born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell, Montana, the daughter of Carla Ingrid (née Swenson) and Larry R. Williams. Her father Larry Williams is a stockbroker and a former Republican party politician. She has a younger sister Paige and three older half-brothers and sisters from her father’s previous marriage – Jason, Kelley, and Sara.
At the age of 9, Michelle’s family moved to San Diego, California. She developed a keen interest in acting from an early age and her parents, who supported her, were always willing to drive her to Los Angeles for film screenings.
In 1993 Michelle Williams made her acting debut on television in an episode of the hit series Baywatch. The following year she made her feature film debut in the adventure family film Lassie. As a couple, Williams and Ledger lived together in New York, and in October 2005 the couple welcomed a child together. Their relationship ended in September 2007 and the couple separated amicably.
Michelle Williams also had a relationship with the director and filmmaker Spike Jonze. She and Jonze met on the set of Synecdoche, New York, where Michelle starred and Jonze was the producer. The relationship lasted from July 2008 to September 2009.
The star was also associated with other eligible men, including fellow actor Jason Segel.
