Currently, Croatian professional footballer Marcelo Brozovic plays for the Italian club Internazionale (popularly known as Inter Milan outside Italy), and Croatian professional footballer Marcelo Brozovic also plays for his country’s national football team.

Brozovic has taken part in two FIFA World Cups in his career to date. He was among the squads representing Croatia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He was also part of the squad representing Croatia at the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Brozovic was born on 16 November 1992 in the Croatian capital Zagreb is a child of the parents Sanja and Ivan Brozovicon. He has two siblings, a brother named Patrick Brozovic and a sister named Ema Brozovic.

Marcelo Brozovic is a graduate of the youth section of Hrvatski Dragovoljac and would make his professional debut with the Croatian club in July 2010 when he played the 90-minute game against Dinamo Zagreb, which ended 4-1. He scored his first goal for the club in March of the following year in a match against Karlovac.

He signed with Lokomotiva in July 2011 after Dragovoljac had put him on the bench for almost four months. Marcelo played 27 matches with the club and scored four goals, giving Lokomotiva a very comfortable midfield position.

In August 2012, he signed a seven-year contract with Croatian professional football club Dinamo Zagreb, replacing Milan Badelj, who left the club for another Croatian club, Hamburger SV. He made his debut for the club in September as a substitute in the second half in a match against NK Osijek that ended without a goal. Less than a week after the match against NK Osijek, Brozovic made his UEFA Champions League debut, playing a full 90 minutes in a game against Porto that ended in a 2-0 home defeat.

He scored his first goal for Dinamo Zagreb in April of the following year in a game that ended in a 2-0 home win over Inter Zaprešic. By the end of his first season with Dinamo, Marcelo Brozovic had played a total of thirty games, including 23 league matches, and scored two goals in the process. This season, Dinamo Zagreb won the Croatian Football League and reached the second round of the 2012-13 Croatian Football Cup, but were eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League.

In January 2015, Marcelo Brozovic transferred to the Italian team (Inter Milan) on the basis of a loan agreement that is to last for a year and a half. The contract contained a reservation clause, which provided that Inter could buy the player. This was done and Brozovic chose the jersey with the number 77, which was last worn by Sulley Muntari at the club.

He made his official debut with the club in February 2015 as a substitute in the last 20 minutes. The game was against Sassuolo Calcio. He scored his first goal for the club in a match against Empoli that ended in a 4-3 victory. By the end of his first season, Marcelo Brozovic had played in 15 league games, starting at 13, and had fallen behind once.

Inter signed him to an open-ended contract when his loan expired and he remained with the Italian team. In the 2017-18 season, Marcelo made his 100th appearance in Serie A in a match against Sassuolo that ended in a narrow 2-1 defeat.

Marcelo Brozovic has not only played professionally at the league level but has also represented his home country Croatia at various levels on the international scene. He has played with Croatian U-18, U-19, U-20, and U-21 teams.

Marcelo Brozovic appeared several times with the U21 team in 2013 and scored seven goals in eight of these appearances. In 2014 he made it onto coach Niko’s final squad list Kovac to represent the nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and in May 2018 Brozovic was also on the list of the 32-strong Croatian squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Marcelo also represented the country at the UEFA European Championship. He was also part of the squad that represented Croatia at the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Brozovic, whose playing style has always been compared to that of the English manager and former professional footballer Frank Lampard, has been married to Silvija Brozovic since 2016, and the couple welcomed a daughter Aurora a year later.
