Her mother, the Jewish-American Donna Cho (née Weltman), is a nurse. Liz has a brother named Andrew. Although both parents are in the medical profession, Cho chose a different career path. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in journalism and history, she started a practice, first as an editor at New England Cable News in Newton, Massachusetts.

After that, Cho worked at the WPLG in Miami. She then moved to Chicago, where she worked as a correspondent for ABC NewsOne. At ABC, Cho quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a host for World News Now and serving as a correspondent for Good Morning America. She joined WABC-TV in 2003 as the host of Eyewitness News.

On the news show, Cho covered events such as Prince William’s royal wedding to Kate Middleton, Republican and Democratic National Congresses, and more.

Husband

Liz Cho was married twice in her life. Her first marriage was to Evan Gottlieb in 2008. About three years after their marriage, the couple bought a nine-bedroom, four-bathroom villa in Westchester for $2.2 million. However, they were never able to live in it for long because things soon turned sour between them.

About a year after they lived in the villa, the couple was sued by a certain Yonkers builder, Cathal Maguire, who claimed that they had taken $100,875 from him for the renovation work he had done. The couple, however, countered the contractor’s claim that he had overcharged them with over $430,000 and provided an inferior service.

After the legal dispute over the house, the couple separated in March 2012, when Cho moved out of their house. Both kept quiet about their separation, sparking numerous speculations, including infidelity that Cho had cheated with then NBC sports presenter Josh Elliot.

However, some sources defended the newscaster by claiming that her relationship with Elliot began after her separation from Evan Gottlieb.

Before the covenant with Gottlieb was made, the couple welcomed a daughter, Louisa Simone Gottlieb, on May 17, 2007. She was the sole subject of their marriage.

A few years after her separation from Evan, Cho was ready to give the marriage a second try when she said yes to her journalist colleague Josh Elliott.

They were married on July 11, 2015, in an intimate garden wedding at the private estate Villa Sevillano in Montecito, California. The wedding, attended by 70 guests, was officially opened by Sam Champion of Weather Channel, who worked with Elliot during his time with Good Morning America.

Elliot had lost his mother three weeks before her big day, but the couple managed to overcome their grief and enjoy themselves on their big day.

Like Cho, it was Elliot’s second marriage. He was previously married to Priya Narang and they had a daughter named Sarina. The couple’s daughters from their respective first marriages both acted as maids of honor on their big day, People reported.
