The best known is Jürgen Klopp as a club manager, who did quite well for the English FC Liverpool. Before becoming a coach, Klopp started out as a footballer in 1987, and he played until 2001 when he began his career as a manager, in which he also excelled.

The Liverpool manager, who was baptized Jürgen Norbert Klopp at his birth, was born on June 16, 1967, in Stuttgart and grew up with two older sisters in Glatten with his parents Norbert and Elisabeth, who were both very important in his former life as a soccer player.

Klopp, who is known today as one of the best coaches, decided to play soccer when he was a small boy. So he started his youth career at the age of 5 years with SV Glatten, where he stayed until he changed to TuS Ergenzingen in 1983. Although he started his senior national team in 1987 with 1 FC Pforzheim, he spent most of his soccer career with Mainz 05 from 1990 to 2001. When he retired, he had already played 325 games for the club, so it was not surprising that the club made him its manager immediately after his retirement.

Jürgen Klopp began his coaching career with Mainz 05 and managed the club for seven years, during which time he led the club into the Bundesliga for the first time in its history in 2004. In the two previous attempts before that, he led the team to 4th place, thus keeping them just outside the top group. Unfortunately, Mainz was relegated again in the 2006-2007 season. Since he was unable to bring the team back into the top group, he resigned the next season.

Soon afterward, he was entrusted with the management of another Bundesliga team with Borussia Dortmund 2008, after the club had finished the previous season in 13th place. His first season with Dortmund was successful: he won the DFB Supercup and led the team to 6th place in the Bundesliga. The following season Klopp led the club to fifth place, then won the Bundesliga title twice in 2011 and 2012, and in the same year won the FB-Pokal final, giving Dortmund its first-ever domestic doubles match. At the end of the 2014-2015 season, Klopp left Dortmund after leading the team to the UEFA Champions League final in 2013.

In 2015 Klopp signed a contract with Liverpool to manage the English Premier League Club (EPL) for the next three years. In the 2015-2016 season, he led the English team to the final of the UEFA Europa League but lost to Seville in the final. In the same season, Liverpool finished second in the EPL only behind Chelsea. He would play with the club in the 2018 UEFA Champions League finals for the second time but unfortunately lost out after Mohammed Salah was injured and his goalkeeper Loris Karius made two mistakes, so Liverpool won 3-1 against Real Madrid.

For his many achievements, Klopp was named German Football Manager of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and EPL Manager of the Month in September 2016.

Family – Brother, Wife, and Son

Contrary to what many believe, Jürgen Klopp has no brother. He grew up in a family with two sisters: Stefanie Klopp and Isolde Reich.

Jurgen Klopp was married twice. The first woman he married was Sabine Klopp. It is not known when the two got married, but their relationship ended in divorce in 2001. Before the relationship ended, she was blessed with a son: Marc Klopp, who had started playing soccer but unfortunately had to give up due to an injury.

Ulla Sandrock was the next woman to become his wife in 2005. The two met when Klopp was a manager in Mainz, Ulla was divorced and worked as a waitress, she also had a son. However, together Klopp and his wife have no child.
