Football Career

Damm began his football career in 2011, after being discovered by Magdaleno Mercado (a Mexican footballer who played for the country in the 1960s), who gave him the opportunity to play with the Atlas.

After six months without the opportunity to play, he left the team and was transferred to the youth team of Estudiantes Tecos.

At the age of 18, he became a professional with the Tecos. His debut in the MX League on 25 March 2012 was not successful as his team lost the match against Monterrey (4-0). Jürgen Damm remained with the club for several seasons before being transferred to Pachuca the following year.

Between 2013 and 2014, Damm played continuously with the Pachuca in the first season and appeared in every game. He scored his first career goal against Guadalajara on 20 October 2013 and moved his side into the final of Clausura’s 2014 season. In his second match against Monterrey at the start of the 2014 season, he injured himself in the Apertura. As a result, he was eliminated from 8 games but returned full-time that same year. He was part of the team when Pachuca scored against Municipal in the 2014-2015 CONCACAF Champions League.

CONCACAF’s final return leg offered Damm and the Tigres side the opportunity to qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup in December. He made his senior international debut on 28 March 2015 as a substitute in the 84th minute of the match against Ecuador, which he played for Mexico for the first time.

In an interview, Jürgen Damm said that it was his dream to play a World Cup at a European club with the Champions League. He trusts in God that one day he can make this dream come true. Because of his playing ability, Damm is more interested in perfecting his crosses and goal kicks.

Family, Parents

The Tigres striker is a family man who spends his time off the pitch with his little daughter and his wife.

He was brought up by middle-class parents who prefer education to all other informal skills, including football, as mentioned earlier when they insisted that he must obtain a university degree.

Jurgen Damm Controversy

The Mexican international and Tigres winger was once arrested by the police after escaping from the officers. According to the report, he was handcuffed and escorted from a fried chicken restaurant in El Pollo Loco after he was found in the bathroom.

It turned out to be a big misunderstanding, however, as the talented footballer was unsure if the police were the ones who told him to stop.

In the club’s official statement, he wrote that he could not identify who it was and decided to hide somewhere nearby. Fortunately, he was released, as the authorities only wanted to check his car license.

On January 1, 2018, it was announced on the official Twitter of Club Tigres that Dam had suffered first-degree burns on the right side of his face and would recover in two weeks.

It was not clear exactly how he got the burn, but it had to do with fireworks. Damm later sent photos of his injuries to warn people of the dangers of using fireworks.

In his opinion, it was a miracle that the injuries were not worse.
