Born as Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, Jon Stewart is a prominent American personality who wears various hats as a comedian, producer, writer, actor, television presenter, and political commentator. He is best known for his roles on The Daily Show, which he hosted in Central Comedy from 1999 to 2015.
He has also starred in several prominent American films and television series, including The First Wives Club, Big Daddy, Half Baked, Playing By Hearts, Wishful Thinking, Since You’ve Been Gone (comedy), The Faculty (horror film). Stewart is the author of Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race. Published in 2010, the comic book was written with the help of several authors from The Daily Show.

The American stand-up comedian Stewart was born in New York on 28 November 1962 as the son of Marian Leibowitz and Donald Leibowitz. His mother worked first as a teacher and later as an educational consultant, while his father (a professor) worked as a lecturer in physics at Thomas Edison State College and the College of New Jersey.
Stewart grew up in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where he and his older brother Lawrence Stuart attended the prestigious Lawrence High School. The names of his two younger brothers are Matthew and Dan. Eleven years after his arrival, his parents could no longer keep up with each other; this led to some cracks in their marriage. The couple then separated and split up. Stewart’s father was missing in his life after the divorce, which affected him greatly in his younger years.
