Jamal was born in Kitchener Ontario, Canada, on February 23rd in 1997 as the son of Silvia and Roger Murray. His father was reportedly born in Jamaica but moved to Canada when he was nine years old. The NBA star has a younger brother named Lamar. As the story goes, Jamal started playing basketball at the tender age of three. It is believed that he played with players twice his age at that time; when he was six years old, he was a star among players who were about 10 years old, and by the time he was 14, he was already having success in the game, competing against high school and college stars. When he began his college career sometime in June 2015 with the Kentucky Wildcats, Jamal Murray quickly gained wide recognition for himself.
