Jamaal Williams is a professional NFL player who plays the running back position for the Green Bay Packers. Before he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, he played college football for Brigham Young University (BYU).

Jamaal Williams Biography

The full name of Jamaal is Jamaal Malik Williams. He was born on April 3, 1995, in Rialto, California, the son of Nicolle and Larry Williams. His father’s profession is not known, but his mother was a school teacher, but now works as a sheriff in the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. She studied economics at UCLA.

Jamaal has a younger sister named Jaela who competed in the University of Nevada on the Las Vegas track and field team. He attended Summit High School in Fontana, California, and then Brigham Young University, where he played college football from 2012 to 2016.

In college, Malik made his college debut in a game against Washington State, where he scored a furious yard of 15 points. In the next game against Utah, he scored his first quick touchdown in college, then two quick touchdowns, and 155 quick yards in the game against Hawaii on September 28. He finished this season with a total of 775 rushing yards, 27 receptions, a receiving touchdown, 12 rushing touchdowns, and 315 receiving yards.

The next season ended for him with 7 rushing touchdowns, 18 receptions, 125 receiving yards, and 1,233 rushing yards. The 2014 season began for him with the game against Texas, where he scored 89 stormy touchdowns and 12 receiving yards. Unfortunately, Jamaal Williams suffered a knee injury during a game against the state of Utah in October, which kept him on the bench for the rest of the season. Nevertheless, he ended the season with 8 receptions, 4 stormy touchdowns, 518 stormy yards, and 47 receiving courts.

Jamaal did not play in the 2015 season after initially retiring from school. He made a redshirted and returned in 2016 for his final season. His first game in the 2016 season was against Arizona, and he managed 162 rushing yards. Jamaal was named MVP of the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl this season after scoring 210 rush yards and a touchdown in the game against Wyoming. He finished his college career with 3,901 yards with 726 carries and 35 touchdowns.

NFL Career

He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft as the 134th overall pick and 13th running back in the fourth round of the 2017 Draft.

The contract was signed in June 2017. Jamaal Williams started his preseason very well with an 8-yard touchdown. He made his debut as a rookie in a game against the Seattle Seahawks in which he scored two rushes over nine yards. Later he scored his first rushing touchdown in his career in a game against the Detroit Lions in nine weeks. In a December game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jamaal scored a rush touchdown and 113 yards on the fly.

Jamaal Williams was not expected to have much impact on the Packers’ offense in his rookie season, but the injuries of Aaron Jones and Ty Montgomery proved a blessing as he took the number one spot in the back in the second half and became one of the team’s more consistent players. He finished the season with a total of 556 stormy yards, 4 stormy touchdowns, 2 receive touchdowns, 262 receive yards, and 25 receptions, and was named the team’s Rookie of the Year.

Jamaal is committed to giving something back to the community and has done so in many different ways. Together with his best friend, they organized a soccer camp for 200 children at his high school in 2018. He plans to establish a foundation to help children with various types of birth defects.
