For those old enough to remember television series in the early 2000s, Hilarie Burton is one who has undoubtedly earned her celebrity status. The American actress and producer used to host an MTV show and stormed onto the stage with her portrayal of the character Peyton Sawyer in the drama series One Tree Hill, which premiered in 2003.

Since then she has appeared in several major roles in both movies and television series. She has also received several nominations and awards for her efforts.

Hilarie Burton, whose middle name is Ross, was born on 1 July 1982. She was born in Sterling, Virginia, to a mother who was a real estate agent and a father who was a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, “The Green Beret. Hilarie, who graduated from Park View High School in 2000, is the first of four children; she was also the only girl her parents had.

Burton was quite active in high school. In her second year, she was the treasurer of the student council. In her third year, she rose to vice president, and in her final year, she was captain of the school’s cheerleading squad, was student body president, and was crowned homecoming queen. After high school, she attended New York University and Fordham University.

Hilarie never missed an opportunity after high school when she got her first job as a VJ on MTV’s Total Request Live. The same year she graduated high school, she was to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. She also presented at MTV’s Iced Out on New Year’s Eve. This caught the attention of The WB, as the station granted her a role in its teen drama series Dawson’s Creek in 2002, in which she portrayed herself as a VJ.

She further improved her relationship with The WB when she won a spot as one of the main characters in One Tree Hill. She played the role of Peyton Sawyer, an extremely independent artist who had trust issues and was trying to find her way through life and romance. In addition, Greg Prange, the same man who had directed Dawson’s Creek, directed the series. The series premiered on September 23rd, 2003, and became The WB’s highest-rated program of the year.

Her role as Peyton Sawyer, widely regarded as her best performance to date, earned her some time on the cover of popular magazines such as Maxim, People, and American Cheerleader. She has also received numerous nominations for her efforts, including three nominations for the Teen Choice Award. In May 2009, however, she resigned from the series for personal reasons.

Next came Burton’s film debut in the drama Our Very Own in June 2005, in which she worked with Cheryl Hines and Allison Janney. She and her co-stars received recognition for “Outstanding Ensemble Acting” at the Sarasota Film Festival. In 2007, she played Ryan in Lifetime’s Normal Adolescent Behavior and in the horror movie Solstice.

In the following two years, she worked with some well-known names such as Dakota Fanning and Hilary Duff in The Secret Life of Bees and Bloodworth, respectively.

In July 2010 USA Network brought in Hilarie Burton for the recurring role of Sara Ellis in her crime series White Collar. She became a regular in the third season of the series but was pushed back to her original frequency later that year.

In mid-2013, she came aboard ABC’s medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” where she played the role of Dr. Lauren Boswell in the last three episodes of season nine. That same year, she also played Brian Sanders in the short-lived CBS drama Hostages. In 2015 she was Anna Schaefer in another CBS series Extant and Karen Palmer in Lethal Weapon from 2016 to 2017.

In 2004 Hilarie married Ian Prange, who was the assistant director of One Tree Hill and son of the series’ director, Greg Prange. The two apparently got along well and looked good together. However, there was no fairy-tale ending for the two lovebirds, as they divorced in 2009. Many sources claim that this was the main reason why Burton left One Tree Hill.

In the same year, she started dating One Tree Hill and Supernatural star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The couple has not yet officially entered into marriage, but they look strong and happy together. In 2010 Hilarie gave birth to her first child, a son. In February 2018 the couple had another child, this time a girl.

Has Hilarie Burton been involved in any scandal?

Hilarie may have been divorced before, but every indication suggests that the separation was a clean break and nothing unpleasant came out of it.

The closest she came to a scandal was in October 2017, when she revealed in a video retweet that filmmaker and actor Ben Affleck had touched her inappropriately in 2003. Although Ben Affleck says he doesn’t remember the incident, he apologized publicly on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
