Heidi Watney was born on 19 May 1981 in Fresno, California, the son of Mike Watney, Paula Watney. Her family has a history of the sport – her father Mike has had a golf coach since 1979. Mike is a coach at Fresno State Athletics and California State University.
Heidi has three siblings, one brother named Josh and two sisters. Her brother Josh Watney followed in the footsteps of her father, who played golf in college. He is now vice president of Ascension Insurance, Inc. as his LinkedIn profile shows.

Heidi is the cousin of professional golfer Nick Watney.
Heidi attended Clovis West High School in Fresno, where she was an active athlete. She participated in gymnastics, hurdles, and diving. She was also a cheerleader.
Heidi was a National Merit Scholar and as a result won an academic scholarship to the University of San Diego, where she graduated with a BA with distinction in 2003.
During her studies, Heidi participated in the Miss California beauty contest. She was a finalist in 2000, semi-finalist in 2001, first runner-up in 2002, and third runner-up in 2003.
Early in her sports betting career, Heidi began in her hometown of Fresno as a sports talk radio presenter for ESPN Radio 1430 KFIG and for KMPH-TV as a weekend sports journalist.
In 2008, Heidi began working as an on-field reporter for Boston’s Red Sox. She hosted The Red Sox Report and The Ultimate Red Sox Show, which were broadcast on the Boston Network New England Sports Network (NESN).
Heidi left NESN in November 2011 and moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a side reporter for the then-new Time Warner Cable SportsNet network. Less than a year later, Heidi left the company to join the MLB network. As a sports caster for MLB, Heidi has hosted the Weeknight Baseball Highlights Show Quick Pitch since 2013.
As a kind of side job, Heidi uses her modeling site in a monetary way by dumping her social media accounts for a special brand of baseball T-shirts and apparel as well as other branded items.

Female sportscasters are mostly referred to as dating sports stars. Heidi got her own rumor fair share in 2008 when she was accused of dating Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, who was a married man at the time.
The rumors began to bubble after the two were seen in 2008 in a bar in Baltimore that looked like an intimate conversation. And when Jason Varitek filed for divorce from his 10-year-old wife in 2008, the rumors only intensified.
While none of them confirmed the alleged relationship, Varitek’s remarriage in 2011 to another named Catherine Panagiotopoulos led to some degree of reduction in the allegations.
Heidi was also rumored to have met another Boston Red Sox player, Nick Green, but it didn’t attract much attention like the Varitek rumors.

Watney married Mike Wickham in Edgewater, New Jersey on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2014. Wickham, who was born on 20 January, is a well-known figure in the MLB who has long worked as a baseball manager.
