Whittaker went to the NFL scouting combine three months later and was still grooming his knee, but although he had all the options, no team was willing to take a risk for him. While his teammates like Emmanuel Acho and Keenan Robinson were drafted this season, Fozzy stayed behind in Austin to wait for his knee to heal and also to work for his master’s program in kinesiology.

Just when he thought all hope was lost, he received an offer from the Arizona Cardinals, who accepted him into their training squad. Three months later (March 2013), the Cardinal fired him, and two days later he was sued for waivers by the San Diego Chargers.
