Nicole Evangeline Lilly was born on August 3, 1979, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. Although she was born in Alberta, she grew up in British Columbia. Evangeline, who is the second of three children, has two sisters. As she grew up, she attended W. J. Mouat Secondary School, where she not only served as Vice President of the Student Council but also played on the school’s soccer team.

The actress grew up in the Christian religion, which was the reason why she decided to go on a three-week mission trip to the Philippines after high school. This in turn led to her decision to study International Relations at the University of British Columbia after she became interested in global development and humanitarian issues.

Evangeline Lilly is currently not married and has no husband. However, she is in a long-term relationship with Norman Kali, with whom she has been dating since 2010. Norman is best known as a production assistant who worked on the television series Lost, in which Evangeline played one of the leading roles. The Hawaiian-born production assistant has also worked on 50 First Dates, North Shore, The Big Bounce, and several other movies and television shows. After they started dating, the actress moved to Hawaii to live with Norman.
