She started her career when she was signed to Syco music, after finishing fourth in the grand final of the seventh series of the X-Factor. Soon after, she began work on her solo album, of which she released her debut solo album Swagger Jagger in July 2011 with great success. The single sold over 200,000 copies in the UK, making it number one in the UK singles charter. Cher Lloyd soon built on this success with her debut solo album Sticks + Stones, which she released on November 4 of the same year. In December she signed a record deal with L.A. Reid on Epic Records.
