2007 was Wozniacki’s first full season and she managed to move up into the top 100 as she finished the year in 64th place in the WTA ranking. In 2008 she won her first three WTA Tour titles and also reached the fourth round of the Australian and U.S. Open. She finished the season in 12th place, making her the first Danish player to reach the top 30 in the tennis world rankings. In 2009, she won three more titles, reached the fourth round of Wimbledon, and was also runner-up at the US Open, which took her up to fourth place in the world rankings at the end of the year.

In 2010, Caroline Wozniacki added another level to her winning streak by winning 6 seasonal titles, the highest number of titles in one year by a WTA player between 2008-2011. As expected, Wozniacki shot herself to the top of the WTA rankings and remained in the top spot for 67 consecutive weeks. Also in 2011 she won 6 WTA titles and finished the year in the first place of the WTA ranking for the second time in a row.

Between 2012 and 2015 Wozniacki had a relatively quiet career. She won two titles in 2012 (Korea Open and the Kremlin Cup), another in 2013 (BGL Luxembourg Open), another in 2014 (Istanbul Cup), and another in 2015 (Malaysian Open). Although she was plagued by several injuries in 2016, she won two titles (the Hong Kong Open and the Pan Pacific Open). In 2017 Wozniacki could only win 2 titles despite reaching the final round of 6 championships. She defeated Shelby Rogers to successfully defend her title at the Pan Pacific Open 2017 and also defeated Venus Williams to secure the crown of the 2017 WTA Finals.

After so much success in her illustrious career, one thing was missing from Caroline Wozniacki’s trophy cabinet: a Grand Slam. But in January 2018, the former world No. 1 broke the curse when she beat Simona Halep in the 2018 Australian Open final to win her very first major title.
