Big Show Bio

Born as Paul Donald Wight on 8 February 1972 in Southern California, United States of America. Big Show attended Northern Junior College in Tonkawa Oklahoma, where he excelled in basketball before enrolling at Wichita State University.

After graduation, Big Show began working as a bouncer in nightclubs due to his intimidating physique, before making his debut in wrestling.

After meeting veteran wrestler Hulk Hogan, Big Show began the arduous journey of learning the ropes and gaining recognition as one of the industry’s heavyweights. In 1995 he joined the world wrestling championship with the ring name The Giant.

After a three-year stint, he joined WWE in 1999 at the age of 27. In 1999 he put a ten-year contract with the World Wrestling Federation on paper. During his early days at the WWE, Big Show had competitions with established names like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Kane, and others.

Wight is a seven-time World Champion, and during his career, he has also won two WCW World Heavyweight Championships and an ECW World Heavyweight Championship. He has also won two heavyweight world championships and two WWE championship titles. He is still the only professional wrestler to have won all four championships.

He is also an eleven-time World Tag Team Champion. Five of his tag team World Championships were created during his partnership with Chris Jericho, Kane, and The Miz. He teamed up with the legendary Undertaker to win the tag team championship twice.

Along with Kurt Angle and Edge, Big Show is only the third in the history of wrestling to win all the male WWE championships. In the course of his trophy-winning career, he has won a total of 23 championship titles.

As the Big Show brand developed, he diversified his creative energy into advertising, acting, and video games. He can be seen regularly in the video game SmackDown Vs. Raw. He also appeared in the remixes of Sisqo and Foxy Browns of the hit Thong Song.

Big Show has also appeared in shows such as Hollywood Squares, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Star Trek: Enterprise, Royal Pains, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Waterboy.

In 1998 the Big Show became embroiled in controversy after he allegedly beat a man with his trademark “knock out punch” at the Mariott Hotel in New York. After investigations, a court presided by Judge Thomas Feinman found him not guilty.

Height, Weight, and Weight Loss

When he was growing up, Big Show had problems with his physique and was diagnosed with an excessive growth hormone disorder. His condition meant that by the age of 12 he was already 1.82 m tall. His growth abnormalities were stopped after a successful surgical procedure that stopped his rapid growth and included corrections to the pituitary gland and endocrine system.

He is currently at a height of dizzying 7 feet. He weighs a staggering 174 kg! Definitely not a man to mess with.

With the help of fitness expert Dodd Romero, he went on a journey to get his body frame and weight under control. He had a successful hip operation in 2017 after a 3.5 cm hole had developed in his hip. During the treatment, he lost some weight, but thanks to improved diet and fitness exercise Big Show has a very proportional physique.
