Before the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the last time a defender from the French national football team scored a goal at the World Cup was when Lilian Thuram scored in the semi-final match against Croatia, where the French team scored the trophy for the first time in their history. The next time a defender scored a goal for the team was 20 years later when Benjamin Pavard scored an electrifying goal in the match against Argentina to secure his place in the World Cup final.
Many would surely talk about the goal for many years to come, but much is not known about the young French defender who plays for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
Benjamin Pavard Bio, Age
Pavard was born on 28 March 1996 in Maubeuge, France. He grew up in his home country with his parents in a rather modest home.
During his childhood and youth, the life of the French defender revolved exclusively around football thanks to his father. Instead of the toy that many children had, the only toy he could play with was a football. Thanks to this he made it to the US-Jeumont at the age of six. Three years later his parents sent him to the youth team of Lille to develop his skills.

Benjamin Pavard played in the youth team for the next 10 years until 2015, when he was promoted for the 20 Lille B games and once saw the back of the net, he moved to Ligue 1 for Lille.

Benjamin Pavard Professional Career
In 2016, he signed a contract with VfB Stuttgart, under which he will play for the team for four years. By the end of the 2017/2018 season, the defender had already kicked the ball in 55 matches for the Bundesliga team, scoring 2 goals in the process.
Benjamin Pavard began his journey into the French national team in 2015, when he received the call to play for the French U-19 team. In the same year, he received a call to play for the U21 national team, which he would lead until 2017.
In the run-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Pavard received his call to play for the national team when he was invited by Didier Deschamps and was given his first chance to play against the Welsh, which the Blues subsequently won. His invitation continued when he was named as one of the players who would represent the country at the actual tournament in Russia.
He scored his first international goal against Argentina with a shot outside the 18-yard box. The sensational goal, which helped knock Argentina out of the tournament in the Round of 16, was considered by many to be one of the best goals of the tournament.
In 2018, the only award he received with a club was his 2nd Bundesliga title, which he won in 2017. Bolder is also his resume through his successes with the French national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Relationship
If you’re wondering if that man is married to the French star, he’s not. Nevertheless, it is known that he is in a relationship with Rachel Legrain-Trapani. Legrain-Trapani was first married to Aurélien Capoue in 2013. However, the marriage could not survive beyond 2016.

Rachel Legrain-Trapani is of Italian descent and a role model who became Miss France in 2007. Before her previous marriage and subsequent relationship with Pavard, the defending beauty contest champion had dated French athlete Ladji Doucoure. After that, she married her ex-husband, who was a footballer, to this day.

Height, Weight, and Body Measurements
There is hardly an argument for the young defender being a good-looking person. He also has a good height, although he is not necessarily the best-built defender you see. Nevertheless, he has always managed to be a key player, whether in his country’s jersey or with his club.
Benjamin Pavard is 1.86 meters tall and has a bodyweight of 67 kg (148 lbs.). His other body measurements are not known, but he has an athletic build.
