After graduating from medical school, Dr. Ben Carson became a certified neurosurgeon and was offered a position at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. At that time, neurosurgeons were in demand because there were few doctors specializing in this field of medicine. Dr. Ben Carson was invited to work at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia in 1983.
However, after several months of practice at SCG Hospital in Australia, Ben returned to his Baltimore base and continued his work at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1985. After one year of practice, Ben was promoted and appointed Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He also worked as co-director of the Craniofacial Centre at the same hospital.

At the height of his career, the skilled and intelligent surgeon achieved a remarkable achievement in the field of medicine. Ben and his team of co-surgeons successfully separated seven-month-old male twins born together in Germany, and he was the first to do so.
The surgeon with the magic brain then treated a similar case with another Siamese twin in South Africa. It was very unfortunate that the babies died after the operation. This was very sad for Ben and his team, but it didn’t scare him off, it made him want to do more.
A few years later, Ben and his team went to Zambia to separate twins (Luka and Joseph) who united at the top of their heads. The operation lasted 28 hours and in the end was successful, the two babies were safe and healthy.

Retirement
