The outstanding American football wide receiver Amari Cooper is one of the most productive players in the National Football League (NFL) Oakland Raiders. Amari Cooper was born on June 17, 1994, in Miami, Florida. He is a very private person, so not much is known about his early life, his parents, and his siblings. Cooper started playing soccer right after high school. He attended Northwestern Senior High School in Miami, where he played the wide receiver pitch for the school team. In the junior class, he was a dominant 7 vs. 7 rounder, leading his team to a series of victories in various competitions. He also participated in basketball and other athletic events for his school team.

During his high school career, Amari was one of the best wide receivers in his school; he finished his high school career with a record of 6 touchdowns and 33 receptions with 722 receiving courts. He was ranked 8th by Rivals.com, 46th by Rivals.com, and 7th in the nation’s rankings by ESPNU 150. He was also ranked #6 wide receiver and #10 player in Florida by 247Sports.com. While he was ranked No. 12 of the nation’s pass-catchers by Scout.com and 86th overall, he was placed 25th in the ESPNU Top 100 in the Southeast and No. 12 in Florida by Scout.com. Among all the universities looking for the amazing wide receiver, Amari chose the University of Alabama ahead of Florida State, Ohio State, and Miami, among others.

While playing for the Alabama soccer team, Amari Cooper broke the 62-year-old record for Alabama set by Alfred Lary by scoring 11 touchdowns in his first year. He also recorded 59 receptions for 1,000 reception hotels in 14 games. At the end of the season, Cooper was appointed to the SEC’s All-Freshman team by the league coaches, and he also earned the consensus award “Freshman All-American”.

The following season, Cooper played 12 games, seven of which he started, scoring four touchdowns and 45 receptions with 736 receiving yards. He also participated in the Iron Bowl, where he scored six receptions with 178 receiver yards, and the Sugar Bowl, where his team lost 45-31. The talented wide receiver continued to show resilience in his game. He ended his college career with 16 touchdowns and 124 receptions at 1,727 receiving courts. He won the Biletnikoff Prize, finished third in the Heisman Trophy, and was unanimously appointed to the All-American team. He was shortlisted as one of the candidates for the 2015 NFL Draft.

Professional Career

Amari Cooper was selected by the Oakland Raiders as the 4th overall candidate in the 2015 NFL draft. On September 13, 2015, he made his professional debut for the Raiders against the Cincinnati Bengals. Although the Raiders lost 33 – 13 against the Bengals, Amari pulled 5 receptions with 47 receptions behind him. He also set a new record for franchise newcomers with more than 100 receptions and 72 receptions in five games. At the end of his rookie year, Cooper was called to the Pro Bowl along with his teammates Latavius Murray and Derek Carr.

In his second year, he showed great improvement in his games, ending the 2016 season with a record 16 points, 83 receptions with 1,153 receiving courts. At the end of the season, Amari was called to the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row and also ranked 53rd in the 2017 NFL Top 100 Players. During the 2017 season, Cooper’s record dropped significantly as the Raiders suffered several losses. He finished the season with 14 points, 7 touchdowns, 48 receptions, and 680 receiving yards.
