Daniel’s parents always supported his interest in fighting sports and his brother also helped him get into his career as a fighter in the Featherweight division. Daniel went to Waller High School in Harris County Texas and finished his schooling in Houston. He’s now an MMA fighter.

Daniel started wrestling in high school and then when he was 21 years old he began formal mixed martial arts training. Daniel studied Brazilian Jujitsu and he’s really good at it. He even earned a black belt in it which he used in his fights to help him win against his opponents.

Daniel started fighting in the UFC in January 2012. He made his debut on January 20th where he fought against Pat Schilling for a title. When Daniel started fighting in the UFC he won his first match! He beat Schilling by making him submit. This was a great start to his UFC career and helped him move forward.

On August 15 2020 Daniel fought Herbert Burns in UFC 252 and won! He was so good in the fight that he even won the Performance of the Night prize.
