After Kenny Golladay showed signs in his rookie season that he is the great player most people thought he would play in the National Football League, he now wants to go a step further and become a pillar of the Detroit Lions’ offensive.
The Wide Receiver, currently the third option for his team behind Marvin Jones Jr. and Golden Tate, was able to post decent figures in his first season, despite being the team’s fourth option at the time, behind the now-released Eric Ebron. Although Golladay missed a few games due to a hamstring injury, he played 11 games, caught 28 passes over 477 yards, and scored 3 touchdowns. His presence ensured that the Detroit Lions were the best deep ball team in the league, making him a legitimate threat and giving him something to build on in his career.
Kenny Golladay Biography
Kenny Golladay was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Even as a child he showed a passion for the sport and was able to dominate his peers on the field, which led his family to ensure that he received the best training to be able to play in the league one day. He then attended a local Catholic school for men in Chicago, St. Rita of Cascia High School, which was famous for its reasonably decent sports program.
Golladay impressed in St. Rita and attracted scouts from various college programs around the country to watch him play. In 2011, his senior year, he caught 44 passes over 640 yards and scored 9 touchdowns. He was also honored in the first team of the Blue Division All-Catholic League. When it came time for him to go to college, he chose to attend the University of North Dakota. As a true rookie, he caught 30 passes for 429 yards and scored a touchdown. In his second season, Golladay turned his game around and led his team to a whopping 69 passes for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.

Although Golladay received a lot of praise at school and was even praised at the All-Big Sky Conference, he decided to change the program and move from North Dakota to Northern Illinois University (NIU). Due to NCAA transfer rules, the player had to sit out a season before he could make anything of his remaining college career.
As a junior, his first season with the NIU Huskies, Kenny Golladay played all 14 games of the season with 13 starts. He finished the season with the most receiver yards of any NIU player in 15 years in a single season with 1,129 receiver yards on 73 catches and 10 touchdowns. For his efforts, he was included in the selection of the second All-MAC team and placed on the Biletnikoff Observation List.
In his last college season, Golladay continued his efforts to ensure that he moved up the ladder to be selected for the All-MAC first team this time around. For the first time in school history, a player recorded a consecutive 1,000-yard season when Golladay scored 1,156 yards for 87 catches and eight touchdowns.
After graduating, Kenny Golladay attended the NFL Scouting Combine and also private training sessions with a number of NFL teams. Finally, he was selected in the third round with the 96th overall selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed a $3.19 million four-year contract that included a signing bonus of $718,824, and the rest became history.

Kenny Golladay, who weighs 97 kg (213 pounds) and is 1.93 m (6 feet 4 inches) taller and most likely heavier than the other wide receivers on his team. This gives him an advantage and gives his team another option because even though he may not be the fastest, his extra height combined with the large catch radius he has thanks to his long arms and 32-inch wingspan means he is big enough to make a catch even when covered.
