He has an older brother David Shepard who lives in Oregon and a younger half-sister Carly Hatter whom he cast in his movie Hit and Run 2012.

Most people looking to make it big in showbiz hardly consider college this would be the only plausible explanation for the fact that Dax had a deal with his mother that if he went to college she would pay his rent. He has also done quite well and graduated from UCLA with a magna cum laude degree in Anthropology.

In 2013 the star left his vegan path and introduced chicken back into his diet this year PETA called Kristen and him the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities. As flattering and honorable as it was Dax had to go back so he went to Twitter to say ‘I’m really flattered to be called @IMKristenBell the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian’ but unfortunately I can’t accept in good conscience because I eat chicken.

PETA however was generally not deterred Shepard and Bell must have really appealed to them.
